Wado class last night: technique and floor movement, nothing real heavy just enough to get me sweating and help out with the sore quads and upper body. Getting out of training for a while really sucks lemons when you restart.
Upper again tonight…

Glad you are making shoulder rehab progress and the balance is coming along.
Wife and daughter are both having some interest, looks like we are all going to start in January. Luckily I saved a gi, my favorite Torakai Bronze.
That’s a sharp avatar Soldog, just FYI.

Thanks Elaikases - all the gi’s I saved were black and faded so I had to get new ones. I do have a whole box of belts I could give away…
I like the avatar even if it looks nothing like me or my dogs.

Staging his comeback, is soldog. Solid rowing and chinning there.
Most places I trained were either very traditional or were gi optional
You know, wear the Chuck Norris pants in red and a t-shirt shorts of places.
Know what it is like to have to completely re-gear. I should have saved my pads.
One thing that has helped me is feedback here on how to move things around to make the fatigue work out better.
The site double posted on me, no explanation why. They need to add a “delete” option.

Good work, Soldog.

Wado class: not demanding physically, punching and kicking pads, still learning how to push the right arm without damaging the healing shoulder muscles. I believe that I really need to watch what/how I do these exercises in class.

Thanks bun - coming along slow and steady trying to bring the shoulders up to speed without triggering the inflammation from before.

It’s a slow and steady approach. Which means it’s extremely frustrating. In the long run it will pay off big time. Good luck with the should rehab.
Thanks stream - things are still moving along alright. I have added the stretching that Elaikases recommended to see if I can help some of the residual issues. Still need to avoid the temptation to try and move up in weight too quickly, I really need a foundation build first.

I can totally relate to that. Even worse at the gym. Lifting wee little weights, how embarassing. It’s the only way to heal it up, slow and steady. I’m going to get sick of those words real fast. Here’s to full range of movement, zero discomfort. Sounds down right sweet.

I’m finding that you have to do it over and over again too. You can’t go max weight all the time. Sometimes you gotta back off a bit and work reps to fill in the holes and build up the strength from the bottom, rather than the top. Bit of an ego-buster.

Lifting at home I don’t need to worry about the wee little weights. All you guys know the scoop and have been there one way or another sometime. And to tell the truth, I’m just happy to be able to bench at all right now. Not to mention the overhead stuff.
Full ROM - no issues: that is sweet!

Great advice…nice going doggie.
