Probably shouldn’t, but since it’s all over the news:
Isn’t the real issue here whether or not Israel has the right to control the Gaza border in the first place?
If one accepts that they do, I see constraint on the part of the IDF in the released videos (envision any European or US force in a similar situation).
If one claims that they do NOT (leaning towards the latter myself…), then we might have a major incident on our hands…
Turkey’s making noises (nobody cares about Europe in this case…). Worries me a bit.
And oh - European activtists: I don’t for a second think that your’re anti Jewish, but just please, please think about who you’re associating with…

You know, the country that has over 400 nuclear weapons but won’t sign onto the U.N.'s nuclear non-proliferation act. The country that wants to drag America into another war with Iran because they have the audacity to want to have one nuke while Israel has over 400. The country that keeps Palestinians living in an apartheid state. The country that kills innocent women and children in Gaza with tanks, jet fighters and advanced weaponry because the Palestinians launched a mortar at them, and the reason they launched the mortar was because of their inhumane treatment. The country that receives billions of American taxpayer dollars and military equipment annually and Americans receive NOTHING in return. The country that continues to defy international law by continuing to build on Palestinian land.
World opinion is turning against Israel and for good reason. How long will Americans support a Racist, Warmongering, Apartheid-state?

I cant substantially disagree with anything you’ve said except for your implication that Iran should be allowed to have a nuke.
And the IDF has confiscated weapons that the “peaceful” protesters had brought to their “peaceful” protest.
Yep - paintball guns with non-lethal tear gas pellets against metal pipes, knives, chairs and now guns.
They have the right to control Gaza, the west bank, and any other territory captured from the nations that continually attack them.
Wow, some of you guys would have loved Nazi Germany - at least they had a solution for the Jews, right?
wow rational gaze and websa watch the video? Maybe the issue is more complicated than you thought. You guys have bought into the propaganda of the left as much as american conservatives buy into that of the right.
Yes anyone who is in disagreement with Israel is automatically a Nazi.
Logic Fail.

How does this help the debate at all?
The following is the transcript from Al-Jazeera TV:
Reporter: “Despite the Israeli threats and several unexpected delays, the arrival of the ships at the meeting point before sailing to the Gaza Strip inflamed the emotions and the enthusiasm of the participants.”
Visuals from Gaza flotilla ship of young Muslims shouting Islamic battle chant invoking the killing and defeat of Jews in battle:
“[Remember] Khaibar, Khaibar, oh Jews! The army of Muhammad will return!”
[Khaibar is the name of last Jewish village defeated by Muhammad’s army and it marked the end of Jewish presence in Arabia in 628.]
Reporter: “While singing songs reminiscent of the Palestinian Intifada (Palestinian terror war against Israel, 2000 - 2005), participants expressed their longing to reach Gaza.”
A participant: “Right now we face one of two happy endings: either Martyrdom or reaching Gaza.” [Based on Islamic call before battle: “Either victory or Martyrdom”.]

No, silly person, the comment was made because of the unhinged hatred evidenced in some of their posts - Israel can do no right in their eyes - it was a comment of comparison, not a judgment of a general stance that opposes the Israel position in this Palestinian issue.
try a little understanding yourself . . .

see my earlier response - try to actually understand what I said, please.

Well, like I said above, I don’t fault the IDF. I think they acted with restraint, given the job they were set to do.
The issue here (as far as I understand) is whether they had the right to intercept or not.
I think this will blow over, personally…

there living of welfare from the european countries they come from.
Nothing new here. Israel attacked the US in 1967 by sinking the US Liberty.
Jews and arabs are all semitic people’s just the same. The palestinians are very closely related to israeli jews genetically. Therefore jews have no monopoly on the concept of ‘anti-semitism’. Why do they even have a special racism word for that?
Just screw all semitic people’s equally. Including the jews masquerading as white europeans (not close) with a twist.

I call bullshit, the give Egypt about the same in aid. both in cash and military equipment. I don’t here these leftist/jew haters talk about that. there are arab/muslim mp’s in the Israel knesset. arabs/muslims enjoy more rights in israel. then they do in arab/muslim countries. before you start accusing Israel of aparti. learn the definition of it. I stand with Israel. there is a difference between legitimate criticism of Israel and virulent jew hatred.

most of the blood flowing through my veins is European. yet I feel no cultural or moral connection to you or other Europeans for that matter. frankly I’m disgusted by Europeans in general. I side with Israel for moral and historical reasons. the jew’s will not go quitely. if the muslim don’t understand this. then ten’s or hundreds of millions of them will die. in their attempted to destroy Israel.
I really have no idea why you guys bother typing out trash-talk to each other instead of looking it up.
US Census (and I have no idea why they have data on this, but…) suggests we spend about 2 billion in foriegn aid for Egypt, and about 2.5 billion for Israel, in 2007.
Facts and figures probably changed a little in the last three years, but this should be a good starting point.

Also note, that this is more than any other country listed, excepting only Iraq and Afganistan, for reasons that should be obvious.
The International Humanitarian Fund (IHH), which plays a central role in organizing the Gaza Flotilla, is a Turkish humanitarian relief fund with a radical Islamic anti-Western orientation. The president of IHH (Bulent Yildirim) recruited â??Jihad warriorsâ?? and transferred firearms, and explosives to Al Qaeda and other Islamic terrorists organizations

But, what if we looked at it as Isreal vs. nations hostile to it’s existence?
