Isotretinoin: Yes or No?

Hey gents, just wondering if any of you have tried it or know a little about it besides the common known knowledge. I realize its the active ingredient in Accutane, and from what i’ve gathered accutane is said to be harsh but work very well.

Im wondering if this would also work well being by itself, or if the compounds that it is paired with help to give it its success in clearing up skin. Certain AAS give me horrible acne but im not about to stop using them because of that. So it looks like im off to the research board. Thanks guys.

I thought isotretinioin was the generic name for accutane?

Either way, it’s what I got from chemone a few years back and ran with it for 4 months. Started at 10mg a day, and then after 2 months upped it to 20mg a day.

I found the low dose approach is no where near as harsh as the regular/higher doses often prescribed. I had dry lips and dry skin patches in random areas on my body (worst were my hands and arms, but I wore long sleeves to avoid that).

Other than that, I can say much more - after struggling with mild to harsh but consistentn acne for over 6 years, it finally cleared it and now I get no more than a regular adult.

awesome thanks for the feedback, so do you feel the compound was the reason for the clearup or do you feel it had to do with other reasons?

Yes, ofcourse it was the isotret.

I had a mild breakout in the first month, and then my skin got better and better until I stopped. I should’ve done monthly blood tests with a doctor just to check my levels, but since it was low dose I just used your average liver supps, kept the alcohol low, and drank lots of water.

just what i was looking for thanks a ton man.

i wanted to see first what your reaction towards your liquid isotretinion from chemone? is it worth $150 over the acutane pills? when did you see any improvement? I was thinking of taking 10mg twice a day which i think is 0.5ml.

i guess i have go buy a dropper to measure it i think 20mg would be 1ml on the dropper. i read that you should shake the bottle before use? and do you store it in fridge or room? You take it by mouth or mix it in the water or what?

I got mine from Chemone - orange flavoured. I thought they weren’t selling it anymore? Anyway, absolutely worth using the liquid - control your dose with accuracy and much cheaper.

Saw improvements within the first month, only got better from there. I stored mine at room temp, and used 10mg a day for 2 months, followed by 20mg for 2 months. I shook before use, and just dropped it onto my tongue.

The bottle (40mg/ml) comes with a dropper, which holds 1ml, so 0.25ml would give you 10mg.

Honestly, I bought 2 bottles and have almost the whole 2nd one left - I reckon it’s been sitting a bit long now so I should probably throw it out.

C1 does have it in stock. Was considering some myself but probably won’t pull the trigger this time around. Its apparently as good as anything else out there especially for the $$$.

Hold on, $150 for one bottle?

I swear it used to be half the price - if I recall correctly I ordered 1 bottle of Clen and 1 bottle of T3 (for my rats ofcourse), and 2 bottles of Irotret for around $170ish.

Could be wrong though - this was nearly 2 years ago.

It probably was half that price 2 years ago. Everyone everywhere has raised prices on RC’s. Its just like gasoline/petrol

It definitely works but its pricey and make sure u have some lip chap laying around cause your goin to need it

I have used it at 20mg/day for several 3 month cycles. To this day my skin looks better than ever. I had bad ance as a teen but am very satisfied with results. The low dose is not as harsh as doctor prescribed 60-80mg/day but I still wait until I am off cycle to use it.

I ran 40 mg/day (20 mg, 2x / day) a month into my cycle, in prep for PCT. (For me at least, PCT is by far the worst time for acne.) This time, during PCT, my face was clearer than ever…not more than a small zit or two the entire time. Very effective, and I felt safe since I was taking a much lower dose than normal, even though I wasn’t bothering to get the recommended blood tests.
