A question for Christian Thibaudeau…can your isometrics program outlined in this weeks issue be modified to improve flexibility?
I ask this as I’m fairly inflexible myself (anterior pelvic tilt and some accompanying khyphosis along with limited r.o.m around the shoulder joint) but through educating myself have come to the realization that a tight muscle is a weak muscle! I’m thinking that my tightness is caused by my CNS sensing that my muscles are not strong enough to support my joints in fully extended positions and not is allowing full r.o.m that would place the joint in a potentially unstable state. Would this be correct?
Anyway if this is so then i need to build strength in those extended positions and i was thinking that isometrics could help me?
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated,
Marv.
