Depressing, isn’t it?
Only if you are so new to the world that you have never considered your own mortality.
Everyone who lives long enough will get old. Everyone living will die. It’s only depressing if you try to deny it.
I’m pretty well aware my mom is going to die one day. The simple fact that I’m not denying it does not make it any less depressing to think about.
If you are like most humans, while you may ACKNOWLEDGE that someone you love may die one day, it is rarely ACCEPTED until the event of losing them. This is why we illogically cry for those who die from long term painful illnesses when we know that person would be in more pain had they lived.
When my grandmother died, she had been dealing with intense pain and the humiliation of having others do things for her for about 4-5 years. She was no longer in pain. She no longer had to fight to catch her breath. If I had actually accepted her death, then I would no longer cry at the thought of her. I would be happy at the thought of her not being in pain anymore.
The thought of your mother possibly dying one day will be pushed to the back of your mind by the end of the day. You will deny it and keep it there until the actual event takes place. This would be why making the most of any time you do spend with her is that much more important.
The point being made is that it is not depressing to see a picture of a man who accomplished a lot physically while in their worst shape. He already paid his dues. He could gain 300lbs and it still won’t take away from what he has accomplished. In the end, he’ll die like everyone else.[/quote]
So well put about mortality. I lost my mother after watching her suffer severely for two months straight, going to work early and making it to the hospital every day to rub lotion on her legs and things of that nature. I always let her know while she was alive and healthy how important she was to me and how much I loved her. It's pathetic the way some people act like it's no big deal or try to downplay things like this. And so many take these precious people for granted until the day comes like Prof said again.
And as far as Arnold, give me a fucking break, what the fuck have any of these douschebags complaining and whining about how “terrible” he looks like now ever accomplished in their pathetic trivial lives huh?
The fucking mans human like the professor said, it's inevitable that one day every last one of us will be in a "pathetic" way when compared to our "glory days". So what, that's what makes life so precious, you have a limited amount of time to play and do something incredible while you're around. Let's see what all these whining bitches will have accomplished when their road comes to an end. And for christs sake, the picture is as was stated earlier, after having had a serious operation, and on top of that he's fairly busy it's safe to say doing and accomplishing more ambitious things with his life in politics now. He still works out and I dare say looks better than 90% of the pansies talking shit about him will look when they're his age.
