I was at the health food store I like, but don’t get the chance to go to very often and the baby was getting fussy. I was looking for plain creatine (since that seemed to be what has been recommended here), but couldn’t find any. I grabbed this instead:
2 Teaspoons (15g) contains:
5g Creatine Monohydrate
3g L-Glutamine
2g Taurine
5g Inulin (a natural source of FOS)
It is unflavored and labeled as creapure which I think is good. I searched the site, but didn’t come up with an answer. Is this a quality product? Good for cutting? Bulking? Should I return it?
I’ve never found creatine products to be good for cutting, as they tend to give a bloated look.
Creatine has helped me (and a lot of friends) in bulking.
creatine is a cell volumizer.(sounds like a shampoo ad).
Not good for cutting, but is good for size and strength.
The added ingredients may not hurt, but they may not help either.
How many servings are in a pound? The price seems a mite high, but not terrible.
I disagree with the idea though that creatine should be reserved for bulking. It can be quite useful at keeping the strength up while cutting, and IF you get a bit bloated(I have not experianced this) outside of the muscles, then, its nothing to worry about, since, once you come off the creatine, you’ll lose the water weight.
I would opt for just a regular creatine mono myself, micronized usually. But, yes that is not to damn expensive.
I agree with Moon… on creatine and cutting it can be a great aid. Sure you will hold a bit more water in your muscles, and scale weight due to this. Nothing wrong with that however. The aid it gives in strength and endurance during k/cal restriction is well worth what you may see as a weight loss hinderance, though the scale wieght should not be your greatest measure os a successful cut.
Serving size: 2 teaspoons
Servings per container: 30
They recommend one serving before and one serving after workouts. I’m thinking of trying it based on your input. I could use a little endurance boost (who couldn’t?) Maybe just one serving a day to start. Do you think before or after my workout?
That’s not a terrible price but if you went online you can definitely find better. PM me for a link. As for the dose I’d say once a day is fine as you cannot absorb anymore than 3-5 grams of creatine a day. Any other reccomendations are just marketing schemes to get you to use more of the product. As for when to take it? I’d say after a workout. I’m pretty sure that’s why that insulin stuff is in there to act as an insulin mimicker which will in turn give you better creatine absorbtion (insulin transports the creatine into muscle cells). However if you’ve got Surge then mix it with that. And not to sound rude but if I were you I’d check out the sites I’m talking about and get some creatine in “bulk” then just combine it with my Surge from now on.
