Is There a Forum Like This for the Ladies?

There are so many knowledgeable people here and so much great information for TRT. I can’t help but wonder if there is a forum like this for the ladies who are on HRT? You know, not the “just ease the hot flashes until menopause” kind of HRT but the long term, optimized, anti-aging, performance enhancing variety. I have no idea if my wife’s protocols are good, bad, or who knows what other than that she takes estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone. Whatever it is, it seems to be working but inquiring minds want to know more.

There aren’t many docs doing female hormone replacement when compared to how many are treating men, so information is scarce.

Excelmale has a PDF “Hormone Replacement Therapy HRT for Women Guide” which I can’t link here. It goes into great detail about what hormone panels look like for women and dosing of everything. It’s the most complete hormone guide I have seen for women.

The hot flashes women get on menopause is from crashed estrogen, if any man has ever crashed his estrogen using an AI, now you know how women feel. The women’s HRT is more challenging, the therapy is based off a womens prior cycles.

There seems to be a consensus that all women over 40 should be on progesterone. It’s also stated by the experts in women HRT that treatment should begin before menopause and is critical to preventing alzheimer’s from ever having a chance to develop.

Sadly once menopause begins, if your women has the genes, there is no stopping alzheimer’s because the process has already begun. It is also said that if menopause is in the latter stages, HRT is likely to not show much benefit because the body has changed too much.

All three of my sisters started HRT well after menopause (60’s) and either didn’t get relief and/or felt worse on HRT, there is no way to know if docs were guiding treatment correctly.

That’s really interesting, I’d never heard that about Alzheimer’s before. I’ll see if I can find that guide. I’m really surprised in a way because I’ve heard about women on HRT for many years, even back when my mom and my aunt were reaching that age so probably 30 years ago but only heard about TRT for men in the last 10 years at most. I honestly don’t remember when my wife started HRT but she’s been on it for years and I suspect she started early because that’s just how she is. She says, “I’ll stay beautiful and you pay for everything.” LOL And it’s expensive as hell compared to my TRT. She does pellets for the estrogen, sublingual testosterone, and capsules for the progesterone. I think it all adds up to about $200/month out of pocket. Mine costs $10 but she wants all bio-identical custom made at the compounding pharmacy. Sheesh.

I got it. I registered over on Excelmale too. They have a whole HRT in Women forum. Thanks for the info.

Women are way ahead of us when it comes to HRT and there are a lot more doctors treating women than there are treating men. The market for men is booming though, and with the rate of decline in testosterone in men it will continue to grow. Typically, estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and thyroid are used. Add in hGH, hGH secretagogues and DHEA for some.

Might be cheaper if she went with cream for the estradiol and test. Sometimes, both can be compounded into the same cream. As far as bio-identical goes, she’s very smart for doing this. Synthetic hormones are dangerous, you do not want her using these products.

That’s unfortunate. My wife started well after menopause and it has been life changing for her. She looks and feels great.

Reading through some of the posts on this forum got me thinking I’m already in the ladies section. Mic drop.
