Is there anything else to eat besides chicken and rice for maximum gains? or is that kinda it?
Nope. Chicken, Rice and Broccoli are the only food that produce muscle gains.
And if you don’t believe that, good - you shouldn’t.
Get ample protein and fats (not excess fats, just ample… 0.3g/lb) and use carbs to fill the rest to your caloric goal.
Whole foods are always better choices than supplements or lower quality foods.
I really have to ask, because I’ve been burned before so please don’t take offense, is this a real question?
Ya honestly, just that. Time to invest into some seasoning. That’s why all rich muscular people only eat steak.
Burned? What does that have to do with Chicken and Rice?
Any lean protein source is fine.
Any source of carbs that doesn’t disrupt digestion is also fine.
You don’t have to live a life of chicken and rice unless you have some extreme goals.
Steak or chicken?
Steak is only better in the sense that it tastes better and has slightly more creatine in it.
The biggest difference is that you will be hard pressed to find a cut of steak that is as lean as chicken breast.
*leanness of the meat does not change the effect of it’s protein content, but large amounts of fat are usually going to hurt if you’re in a caloric deficit.
I like piedmontese steak if my goal is to eat something as lean as chicken but have it be steak. And I like steak over chicken because of the presence of B vitamins. And then, if you DO eat steak with fat on it, grassfed is a great choice since it will have slightly better breakout of omega 3s vs 6s.
Egg whites are another very clutch stupidly lean source of protein, and then the whole eggs are great when you want fat.
If only there existed a site with thousands of free nutrition articles for lifters…
If it had a community with people posting their meals and cooking ideas, that would be great too.

And even if the goals are extreme - there are better choices than chicken and rice!
Proteins: Fish, lean beef, eggs, cottage cheese
Carbs: Sweet potatoes, winter squash, potatoes, oats
And get lots of non-starchy veggies too. Variety is going to go a long way in terms of getting the nutrients you need to perform optimally, recover, feel good, AND get results too.
