Is Iran The Enemy?

HH’s comment makes me ask the question…Dustin, why in the hell did you sign up?? Did you not understand YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to know what you could be getting yourself into?? You go around hijacking threads …disrespectfully pointing the finger at all of us and calling us fools.

But who is the real fool? Yourself. If you were not,you obviously wouldn’t be all distraught and “delusional” as you are with the stuff that you post. So please, spare us with your bullshit. If you’re going to beat your own drum…at least take the “virtual glasses” off first. And please take advantage of all the psychiatric help you can get. We don’t need any more “Tim McVey’s.”

Maybe you should apoligize…the thread was doing fine without you. You were never mentioned by JeffR to begin with.

Funny that a member of the US military who disagrees with you is tagged a “fool”, and yet a lot of people here believe that the bravery of the people deployed shouldn’t come into question. Heck, everytime somebody criticizes McCain’s service, the topic is declared untouchable.

Is it that one must be subjugated by the flag? Do you want all soldiers to leave their critical thinking and common sense at the door?

Dustin’s got plenty to be mad about. Bush rushed a war which could and should have been averted. He came close to death on multiple occasions, and has probably seen more young kids dying than you ever did (both in his unit and among the civilians). Is he just supposed to shut up about it all? What is that? Bill O’reilly?

Also, I don’t see where he called you a fool.

Funny that I wasn’t addressing you. Those that KNOW exactly what I was addressing will understand my post. A small taste just for you: The majority of us were fooled by our government and this war…yet Dustin acts as if he’s the only “victim” thats been fooled. He’s not. Read between the lines and you will see that this “war” is the lesser issue with him. If you don’t see where he continuously calls US fools, then you’ll never get it…which would be no surprise.

Also…you don’t know enough about me to know what I’ve experienced and seen. I deal with soldiers every day…some my friends…some not. I KNOW how soldiers feel…but they NEVER take it to the level he does. He acts as if he hated his country before this “war”…or maybe before he even joined the military.

Dustin,

Perhaps you’ll choose not to anwer this (certainly your right), but I’m curious how you manage to serve (and indeed, risk you life, it seems)in the military of a government which you have such negative feelings about.

Are you willing to comment?

I took an oath to protect the U.S. from enemies foreign and domestic. No where in the oath does it say to blindly serve a government.

I look at it as a job, nothing more. It’s also a job I don’t care for and am looking forward to getting out, which will happen after I re-deploy.

I work with a bunch of guys though, that I really respect and don’t want to let down. That’s why I go to work everyday, I suppose. Hopefully, that’s why they do also.

Chushin, I’ve disagreed with you before, but you’ve always been respectful in your disagreements. I appreciate that. I wish some others around here would attempt to do so as well.

Dustin

You don’t understand you’re role, so you’re frustrated.

Your role is not JUST to protect and defend the Constitution but to spread this noble standard over the entire world. We cannot rest until every country on earth is a liberal democracy, as we are.

This duty was given to all judeo-christians at Mt. Sinai long ago.

It looks like the comunist propaganda before 20 years ago. To help the brotherhood nations in fight against Capitalism and Imperialism…for bright Comunism future and prosperity.

Ok. But maybe you should avoid using words such as “us”, because it associates you with the people who cling to the idea that the US is in Iraq to “spread freedom and democracy”.

How about asking him instead of making assumptions?

I just figured that if you’ve been there, you would have pointed it out.

So? Doesn’t Dustin have the right to express his opinions?

Plus, there are people who took it much farther by categorically refusing to deploy altogether.

Actually, you and Dustin are more guilty. I used words such as “us” in defense for posters like Dustin…and sometimes yourself…that like to use words that associate and categorize us or our country in whole. Thats part of the main issue I had to begin with.

Why? Its clear enough…everyone else has pointed that out already. He should take your advise about assumptions and maybe spare us of his nonsense and have an actual discussion instead of sounding basically…crazy and delusional.

Please…of course he has that right(even though some of whats been said hardly classifies as an opinion)…just as I have the right to express how I feel about him and you.

Also,of those that did refuse to deploy because they don’t agree with the war…are they blindly pointing the finger at his fellow countrymen…who also don’t agree with our government,Iraq, etc? He’s just as responsible as us all in this country. Granted,I should ask how he felt before this war and enlistment…which I plan to do.

Run along, lixy. The last thing Dusty needs is to have you getting his back.

[quote]lixy wrote:

Why would we want to avert the war? War is perfectly natural and cleansing. It is only through war that we can have one united world.

We certainly would like to establish a worldwide liberal democracy, but the means to attain such a thing will probably lead to a tyranny/oligarchy — governments always abuse science.

Let’s face it: we can’t continue on with rogue forces roaming the planet. We’ll have to have some sort of version of an absolute all-powerful government, to keep order.

Amen to that!

“You understand us and make a distinction between the violent behavior of Zionists and the religious beliefs of Jews,” said the senior rabbi who called President Ahmadinejad “a pious man who is seeking to restore peace in the world and has humanitarian plans.” Appreciating the rabbis for their gift, President Ahmadinejad said he was happy to visit them…

JTF,

Jews, real Jews, were handed a huge responsibility when Moses handed them the 10 Commandments. It wasn’t to just passively obey the Commandments but to go out and civilise the world. Jesus is the final manifestation of the Jewish purpose, to change humanity.

Zionists believe that this change can be manifest through violence. Most Jews disagree.

The goal of all judeo-christians should be to make the world a better place, by changing humans from beasts into rational men.

I signed up for the experience and to make money to support a family. I signed up when the Iraq War had already started, so I knew I could be deployed.

The only people I’m calling fools are those that continue to believe the nutjobs that occupy the White House. They already deceived us with Iraq and now they are trying to do the same thing with Iran, yet no one questions any of it.

I’m no more hijacking threads than anyone else who posts here. All I want is for people to use some common sense. If a guy lies to me once, who says he won’t do it again.

I dislike governments, I never said anything about the country (the U.S.),the people, and the freedoms that make the U.S. a great place to live. Do you understand the difference?

dustin,

Perhaps you’ve noticed that many other Governments (including those hostile to taking out saddam) are very worried about iran.

If your brain freezes up at the mention of the word “Bush,” the other Governments’ concerns should at least stimulate some curiosity.

Or, when you see the IAEA pointing out continuing worry that the iranians are lying about their nuclear intentions, that should get your attention. I don’t think anyone could reasonably suggest that Bush has any sway with the IAEA.

I think I can speak for many on here when I say that we don’t object to critical analysis. We don’t even object to you offering opinions that differ from ours. We DO object to you labeling anything you find uncomfortable and contrary to your narrow world-view as “propaganda.”
