Is Chalk the Answer?

Ya, I use nail clippers everyday on the calluses. It’s pretty fun actually. [/quote]

I too seem to take great pleasure in clipping calluses with nail clippers.

I use a foot file like this to keep the callouses reasonably flat.

I never get those wounds on my hands. I get callouses, but they are kind of really really small and hard to tear open. Also, in the army, I remember everybody in my company having callouses and such on their feet, because of shitty, mismatched boots, but not me.

I guess it’s a genetic thing.

when my callouses get out of control, i just trim them down with my pocket knife.

straps are fine to use, if you have a reason to use them. rack pulls and shrugs are about the only time i would ever consider using them. mixed grip shrugs seem like a horrible idea, and i can rack pull much more than i can deadlift from the floor, but i can’t grip it just yet.

gloves, meh.

just don’t be that guy who does EVERYTHING with straps. if you can’t hold on to 135lbs to do bent rows or whatever, work on your damn grip.
