oh crap i forgot that the links came through as actual vids.
he’s the one with white hair.

so, naw i don’t think so.

no age is to old if you feel fit and healthy, my step dad is nearing 50 and he kicks ass in both MMA and long distance running,
take randy courture for example he is OLD but hardcore.

I think you could do fine!
A member of our club turned 50 last year and received his BJJ Blue belt!

Never too old to learn I’d say, so go ahead and take classes get experience and if you and your coaches feel ready to do a fight enjoy it!

My friend just did his first fight ever at the age of 44, 32 is nothing you will be fine…

On top of what everyone has said I would also look into Grappling tournies that have novice/beginner divisions. Like NAGA has under 6 month division. So after a few months start getting involved in tournies. Learning to compete and perform when it matters is a huge part of MMA. Doing grappling tournies will help you learn to compete against an opponent who is going full speed. Even in full speed rolling its not the same as competing.

Best of luck to you. Its not easy to step into a ring or cage and compete. Be a sponge in training and have fun.

Yeah those grappling tournies will give you confidence in your groundskills and you’ll get a feel for what it is to compete when people are watching you.

Give it a try!

I agree that 32 is not too old to compete in club / amateur fights. That being said, here’s a few tips:

  1. Get a good coach. Find someone who has coached a significant number of competitive fighters. He will know the level of competition in your area, and be better at evaluating your skills and progress than you are. Once you hire him, listen to him. If he tells you you’re not ready, you are probably going to get hurt if you ignore him. If he tells you to go for it, you’re probably good enough to seriously mess up anyone who doesn’t take you seriously.

  2. Keep up your conditioning. You’ve got a couple of years on me, so this is mostly hearsay, but as you get older it’s going to get harder to keep up your strength and cardio. At any age, it’s easier to keep it than to get it back, so don’t let up even when you’re sore from sparring. Personally, I find that a good set of squats and deadlifts makes the pain of a leg kick bruise go away.

  3. Also agree with the above posters on getting into some grappling tournaments. You may find that you can keep up with BJJ far longer than muay thai, and regardless you’re going to need some basic grappling skills if you’re going into MMA. I know my grappling is weaker than my striking, and it has hurt me in the past. Take it from me, nothing is less fun than learning what a kimura is by having it applied to your ignorant ass.

  4. Kick ass, take names.

*Edited because spelling is teh hardz.

nice points Devildog!

Take point 4 to heart

I started training kickboxing at 38 and fought 4 amateur fights (won all 4). I’m now 40 and have switched to the NAGA grappling tournaments and I’ve got to tell you, these are as violent as the MMA fights, just no striking.

Are you currently sparring? If not, make sure your do lots of sparring, both striking and ground sparring.

At 32 you should do well.

Gratz with the wins Warpig!

sorry for the off topic

Thanks Ude. I got smashed in the NAGA 6 months and under bracket in February. My Jiu Jitsu has gotten much better since then.

Yeah tournaments really get your jiu jitsu to the next level.
I remember my first fight, I lost on a collar choke and I did not know the stupid defense against it. (just pushing his elbows together and tucking my chin in)

Since that day I have never tapped on a collar choke :stuck_out_tongue:
