Been on test e @ 100mg/week for 3 weeks and feel literally nothing at all
Could it be the dosage is too low for me?
My pre test levels were 268 and 317 ng/dl and i started TRT mainly for mental health benefits and positive effects on mood which I have been reading about.
I have been eating quite well and training very hard at least 5 days a week and sleeping right too
I’m beginning Week 3 (60mg twice a week) and have begun noticing it. Began getting morning wood this past weekend for the first time in forever. Also, desire to have sex is growing…thank fuck I found someone on Tinder.
I’ve read the noticeable changes are very different by person, so I’d wait it out till Week 6 and see what your labs say. (I assume that’s your next appointment if it’s like mine). If they come back with not much to show, then ask for a change.
Just a thought; not sure how you plan to measure mental effects; like what are you hoping to see that is not there now? Are you trying to do things that would reflect a better mood, or are you waiting for some signs first?
Physical is alot easier to measure, I guess is what I’m getting at.
Sorry, I added a 3rd paragraph after you responded.
Not sure how I’d measure mental effects…which is a problem. Physical effects are pretty easy in comparison.
Like for me…creating a Tinder profile / going on dates was a fucking huge HUGE event (autism). I’ve been forcing myself out of my usual habits which has been ultra painful but necessary. In my 30s and I have (I think) my first girlfriend
So, I guess try do what I did and force yourself into situations that would be representative of a “good mood” and see if it helps. If you wait for the mood changes to show up first, but keep the same life style…how would you notice?
Well for me personally I have depression and anxiety, and low moods a lot of the time.
I have read the these are symptoms of low testosterone
I was hoping that being on testosterone would help make the symptoms improve. Like less low moods, feeling more positive about life, even more motivation and pleasure.
What do you do currently to try improve your day? I see you go to the gym and eat right…but what do you do the other 22 hours of the day? Even use yesterday as an example.
If you had a change in mood from testosterone kicking in, how would that change the day(s) you have now? What would you do differently?
I guess if i had a change in mood where my anxiety improves, i would be more social and outgoing
I do most of my training at home and at the park, but i go to the gym once a week with my friend
I guess if i had a mood change from testosterone, i would attend the gym to train more often, go out more often, maybe train even longer and stuff
Lack of motivation is quite big atm, i still train but i don’t really enjoy it. Feels like im going through the motion. I hope the testosterone can make me enjoy it more
Is there classes of (whatever) at your gym? Being social needs an event that makes people accessible; lifting weights doesn’t really fit the bill. Most people have headphones in and desperately try avoid eye contact.
Doing some class of (something) let’s you talk to people at the start/end, even if it’s just a 1 min conversation, those turn into 2 mins next time etc. Try it out for one class and see how it goes?
Beyond your friend, do you have any inclination towards dating? If we assume you’ll turn into a sex fiend (I mean, why not ); having a plan towards having someone to exercise with would help.
Yes its well known low test can cause depression. It does take some time for the effects of test to make themselves known in this area. For me around three months. I did find a larger dose was more effective.
When you get follow up labs in another month, we will know. You can’t go by feelings only three weeks in. Your steady state T levels are not reached for four weeks at least just to get full effect.
Be patient, it can take months for you to start feeling the positive benefits from TRT. I use 80mg per week and it completely changed my life after 3 months. I’ve seen big changes in my energy, mental clarity, outlook, body composition, vascularity, muscle gain, and reduced blood pressure. It might also take a few adjustments to your protocol for you to figure out your optimal sweet spot but give it six to eight weeks before making any changes. Don’t give up, TRT will make your life measurably better!
Hormones don’t work like drugs, it takes time for your body to start using the testosterone and exchange between tissues and heal tissue. Then you start getting benefits.
I had a non-response to TRT injecting once and twice weekly, even with high numbers. I responded vigorously injecting smaller doses (7-20 mg) more frequently and 6 weeks it’s like a light switch turned on and started feeling different.
TRT is an all about experimentation, you have to find out what works for you. No two people will respond the same, an optimal injection frequency will be unique to you.
