I was trying a few new and a few old things today. I have never done suspended good mornings. So they felt a little awkward. I haven’t used the squat machine in over a year and was the most weight I have used on it. I’m sure I could have done more. I had not done shrugs in 6 months also. All in all a pretty decent workout.

Sho 'nuff is. Nice poundages going there, Ironman.
I hate Mondays. It’s hard to get a decent spot in the gym nowadays. Most of the gym members either speak only Spanish it seems or they just don’t know how to give a proper hand off. They try, but it’s either too much or not enough or off center.
Can’t ask the gym owner because he’s to busy running the place. If it sounds like I’m being picky please for give me. But if a hand off is not done right I could get injured or worse. I already had my shoulder hurt a year ago because the guy spotting me pulled the bar out of the groove as I was coming up with it.
An injury I’m still dealing with now I might add. I guess I should just be happy that someone is willing to give me a hand every now and then.

I decided to add a little weight to my squats. They have felt too light over the past few workouts. I’m also pushing myself a little on everything else.
Welcome Bro! Good to add another “Old School” strong ass brother to our group!
Thats a pretty heavy weight for a speed day, nice work. I generally don’t go above 165 - 185 on speed days but my max shirted bench is only 465. (Before surgery) Are you pretty fast with 225?
Fairly fast I would say. My max shirted is around 415 I would guess. I haven’t really tested myself on my shirted bench because I haven’t really mastered the shirt. Also I don’t lockout on my bench because of elbow problems. I’m usually a couple inches short though I do lockout on my max effort work.
Bench felt strong today. I hit a newish pr but didn’t want to push it too much. I’ve done 450 in the past but didn’t bring it as low. I’m probably learning to use the shirt better.
Thats my kind of ab work, an afterthought. Very strong lifting. Might be stupid questions but are you able to get into your bench shirt alone or do you have help like the times I’ve seen other people use them? Do you take it off between every lift?

I have to have help getting it on. It is a closed back single ply Katana. Presumably legal in all equipped feds. I don’t take it off between sets because it takes about 5-10 minutes to put on and get adjusted correctly. Even then I still might have to tweak it a little more between sets. I don’t think I have quite figured the shirt out yet. Bench shirts can be difficult to master especially some of double ply shirts.

GM’s seem to be getting easier. Maybe I’m learning to turn it on a little better. Squat machine, still haven’t reached my max. Shrugs were easier also. I’m not sure why. Maybe someone else might have an explanation. I’m not doing anything different.
