Iron in Beef Liver

I love beef liver, been eating it ever since I read that John Meadows advocated it.

The only problem is, it contains a ton of iron. As a result, it is recommended (by the fed) that consumption be limited to 1-2x a week TOPS.

Is this complete horseshit? I would like to know because I love beef liver. I would love to eat it every day.

Thank you.

i supplement with x10 dessicated liver tabs a day (from beverly Intnl - high strength), as well as half a kg of beef a day

i aint dead yet - in fact, im gaing strength on a cut. SCREW THE MAN!

thank you for your response, do you know what the iron content is in the tabs?

no idea, but there is 2.6g (not mg) of liver per tab

My opinion on animal liver is this - if the liver is the bodies main detoxification center then when we’re eating an animal’s liver are we not consuming a lot of their stored toxins??
If you are eating a diet high in red meat and animal protein I don’t think Iron Supplementation or eating liver is necessary. Unfortunately, for us guys we’re more at risk of hemechromatosis (too much iron). Another suggestion I could make is that if you love eating livers that much, just go give blood once/month. This is the best way to lower iron levels that are too high. Plus, you feel special doing it. Good Karma!
All the best!

Try asking in Modok’s thread.

you are right, however I am not eating liver for the iron content, the mods changed the title of my thread so I can see how you arrived at that conclusion.
