Training Update

I’m on holidays! I have about 5 weeks to rest and recover before I head back to the crazy college.

I missed out on the competition thing. They were going to cut from about 70 people to 44 but they ended up cutting down to 30 including a mandatory 8 females. There was no way I was in the top 22 guys but I’m a bit pissed to have missed out on my M4 qualification. Ah well can’t have everything go my way.

I’m trying to pack on as much weight as possible on these holidays. Mixture of 20 rep squats, high frequency training, dirty bulk and added active recovery days. This will only last until the Saturday after Xmas though as I’m heading up to the beach for a week and a half.

Happy holidays guys!

Sorry you missed out but you have it a good go and are probably the fittest you’ve been. Good luck with the dirty bulk and have a great Christmas mate.

Haha it’s a little misleading, I’m slightly a lot more Aussie than I am Irish :joy: I do have Irish and Scottish ancestry though.

As in the one near port maq, or up sunshine coast?

@anon96032531 the one up past Sunshine Coast. It was lovely up there except for the jellies and the angry ocean. Beautiful days though and just enough rain to cool it down without being a real dampener to the holiday.

General Update

Ok so I’m obviously getting a bit lazy with my log and I can’t see it improving anytime soon as tomorrow I start back at work and begin my next class at Duntroon. Notorious 2nd Class, the hardest and busiest 6 months of our training.

I hit the gym a fair bit over the holidays. Just strength training as I get enough cardio at work and I build that fairly quickly. I started the holidays at 70kgs and weighed in at 76kgs yesterday. Hopefully I don’t lose it all in the 1st couple of weeks here!

Also got some PRs this past week.

Deadlift 140kg x 3
Back Squat 100kg x 3

Slowly making progress on all fronts I guess. It does get a little frustrating how slowly my strength is moving but I have to keep in mind that I’m really not in the best muscle building environment when I’m at the college.

Just imagine how strong you can get when you can also add some weight. Good work Irish

Oh woah, didn’t realise how long I had left this. It’s too late 2night but I will do an update soon.

In short, I have been ridiculously busy, upwards of 20 hour days out field and 90 hour weeks in barracks. Lost strength, lost weight (look shredded af) but gotten really good at carrying 50kg packs up and down Hills over several kms…

I haven’t been able to catch up with any of your logs so I hope all is well. Holidays in a bit over a week so hopefully catch up a little.
