Irishman's Training & Nutrition

Haha jee thanks mate!

I work out at little country town at the moment on the cultivated flats. It was the coldest place in qld on Monday morning with temp of -4 ‘feels like’ temp of -7. I went to screenshot it right as it changed to -2 ‘feels like’ -3. It’s a bloody cold place.

I really hope this is going to be hard. Freezing cold, very limited sleep, constant exercises and mental mind games. The biggest reason I’m joining the army is the training, and apparently Australian Officers are one of the best trained in the world. Bring it on :sunglasses:

In the military I once layed down completely motionless for six hours. It was -15℃ and I was in my summer gear in a pile of snow. Got to tell ya, I was kind of cranky after that. Moving around was plain painful for several hours.

Why the hell where you in summer gear! I would have:

  1. Died due to the cold killing my will to live.
  2. Never again be able to move.
  3. Get my hands and feet amputated due to frost bite.

No thankyou!

We were told we’d be chasing some guys for a quite long distance, having done that the previous day (in summer gear which was borderline too much for that stuff) there was no way I was going to throw on a lot of clothing. We got a change of plans after we left the base, it was pretty horrible.

No kidding, while I was in there I did put together my speech (while cursing everyone to hell) that I would deliver in the court for losing my limbs if I even ever got out.

I could only imagine how cold it is down there today, its 7 degrees on the central coast with a top of 15, and we usually have a good 10/15 on anything 100km west anywhere further south then us…

Lmao I wear shorts all year round down here and it’s never really cold. People think I’m a bit mad as they all walk around in their coats hats and gloves at 10 degrees !!

I do the same mostly, except it’s around zero or below here.

I was the same even when I lived in the U.K. Just didn’t really feel the cold in my legs. Hands and feet is a different story altogether !!

haha same but if the cold gets anywhere near my chest then it’s a problem.

14 days to RMC-D!

Swimming has been going pretty good. I should go for a run and see if has any carry over.

I hit 90kg for a single on front squats this morning. Heaviest I have gone I think. I’ve also been walking out 120kg in the front rack position. Feels tasty.

Cold showers are getting easy as. I don’t hyperventilate anymore and it takes just seconds to acclimatise. I don’t know if it’s helping with cold acclimatisation but I’m going to keep them up coz I can.

That’s about it. I just wanted to gloat that I have 2 weeks before I start the next exciting chapter of my life. The last couple chapters have been boring as fuck.

Hey irish, how are things holding up?

You’ve yet to fall into psychosis from sleeping too little and taking all those cold showers, right?

Right?
