I was only 5 when my dad retired actually. I grew up in a suburb of Chicago. We had inner city kids bussed in. The biggest and most significant differences were lack of 2 parents, dropping out and continually making poor decisions. I liked a lot of those guys too. We all got along really well despite our different upbringings
Those things aren’t just for minorities. It applies to everyone. I knew poor white kids too without both parents. They didn’t fare well either.

Where we don’t agree is the pull yourself up by the bootstrap mentality. It works for some, but not all. Some of those liberal ideas like scholarships for poor people seem to help overall.

For sure man. I simply see no calling for personal accountability ever from the left. The Marines was the best thing I ever did. Met so many people from so many walks of life and realized we’re all way mor alike than we are different. I no longer believe in any stereotypes im proud to say. Best guy I’ve ever known was a very proud “hillbilly” from Virginia. Kindest guy I ever met but some would have you believe it’s impossible for a white country boy could ever like a black guy.
I also found out college wasn’t for me lol. Didn’t do well there.
The boot strap thing rubs people the wrong way but I believe in making my own way. Some people can’t be bothered to try.
In the end, it doesn’t matter who is responsible or not, it’s the outcome that matters. If you want to be successful it’s in your best interest to try to achieve what you want.
At the same time I think helping people in tough situations creates a better society. Eventually some of those people will contribute society. There are social positions that are very hard to crawl out of. We can have people stuck there indefinitely, or provide help with a possiblity that they can get a better life.

Yea man I agree. I just see no help in trying to convince people they are victims. I know way too many great people of all colors to believe that bullshit. There are plenty of assholes but fuck em.
I’ve actually never had issues with anybody of any color. Im just a very respectful guy. One’s attitude towards others goes a long way.

The first part is not inaccurate, and the 2nd part is what needs to be done to fix the problem. But ignoring the facts (that crime is a serious problem among black people in the western world) won’t make it easier to fix anything.
That’s part of it, but another part is that in just about every group of people there is a criminal subculture, in some groups it is bigger than others and in this case the media (music, TV shows, movies) have helped it to become nearly mainstream.
Here in Ottawa they also search Middle Eastern men at a much higher rate because there are a lot of them involved in gun crimes and drug business.
From a logical perspective, it only makes sense that if a large proportion of a particular ethnic group/groups is committing most of the crimes you would go after them, but perhaps there needs to be a different approach to policing in those situations. Like if they are looking for guns and hard drugs and they catch someone with a small amount of weed (it’s legal here, but just for the sake of argument) they could let them go rather than charging them for some petty shit when they are after serious criminals. Otherwise what can you do, not stop anyone on the street at all? Stop more random white people in the name of equality?
That’s true, but it’s only part of the picture. Somalia has approximately the same murder rate as the US.

Are conservatives any better or just trying to screw you over a different way? It looks to me like black people really got screwed over by so-called leaders, right from the begining. Like Marcus Garvey was a Mason, his main opponent WEB DuBois was a Mason too (Boule). Even Toussaint Louverture (Haitian revolutionary leader) was in that too. When those who claim to lead you are in the same secret society as those oppressing you, something is seriously wrong. Maybe that’s what you should be looking into.
I agree to an extent but ignoring the past doesn’t help either. The challenges faced by the average black person and the average white person are not the same because of that history. Understanding that history and working to decrease the disparity of opportunity that some people have is important. It’s important for impoverished people of all races not just black.

As a half black man I sort of agree. To overlook the trials of whites is not only disingenuous it’s dangerous thinking. In today’s age nobody is less equal. At least until the SJW culture and far left gets their way. Having minority status and preferences myself I can’t sit here and act like all’s well.

I think I laid out the logical perspective. Whites (according to the articles study) are slightly more likely to have contraband when searched at stops. They just happen to get searched far less often hence the bigger numbers. Your crime statistics are going to be significantly off if you only pull over white people with blonde hair. And then we could say “well it makes sense to pull them over they are committing all the crimes.” They aren’t it’s just they are the only ones being looked at.
Maybe don’t stop people randomly? Or yes stop them at the same rate in the name of equality. Perhaps this would show the disparity of crime is not nearly as wide as assumed. The point is if you don’t look for crime because of a race you won’t find it. And if you only look because of one you will.
Who’s ignoring the past ? The left can’t move past it or ever let a chance to revive it go.
