Iran: In Trump's Crosshairs

You are quite correct. It’s a waste of my time and conspiracy theorists never see reason anyway

You don’t have an alternative explanation.

As is often the case, when asked to tone down the hysterical screaming of abusive epithets, you just have no substance at all.

The typical “oh I’m too good for this” type cowardly withdrawal.

Got home from work training wanting to catch up on this thread.

Realized CB came back and turned it into white supremacist hour. Shame the actual topic is worth discussing. Ah well we will wait him out again I suppose.

UPDATE:

“Iran has launched surface-to-surface missiles at Iraq’s Ain Assad air base, housing U.S. troops”…"

I prefer to think of myself as an unenlightened liberal.

Basically, the regime waited to see how did the funeral processions in Baghdad and Tehran play out, concluded that they have overwhelming support in the country itself (despite supposed twitter evidence to the contrary) as well as among Shiites in Lebanon and Syria and simply doubled down.

Considering that the population almost tripled since the Revolution, they believe they have more than enough cannon fodder. So the mullahs think they can afford the roll of the dice should it come to that.

Following due to this update. I like a majority of my news to come from the people of a similar but varied social structure and interests rather than just the newest attention grabbing headliner.

I go back to one of my original concerns:

Trump’s desire to be seen as the greatest and strongest President ever (and most certainly greater and stronger than President Obama).

We will have to see what Trump’s response is.

Please show it to Mike Pence. All we can say for sure is that the alleged hijackers were Saudis, but according to him they momentarily put aside their Sunni-Shia rivalry just for 9/11. If you believe Pence, you will believe anything.

This is seriously fucked up and defies logic, only those who know nothing about anything will believe it:

But don’t worry, I hear the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are working with Trump and Pence to neutralize the threat.

You have a country full of people who are not afraid to die vs a country that won’t be willing to kill them all.

Anyway, about this, I agree that the US should stay out of other countries’ business, they are one of the main reasons there are so many problems in the world today. If they never mixed up in anything in the middle east then no Muslims would want to do anything to them.

But as far as what happened with 9/11, it really looks like people in the US government knew what was going on (at the very least) and covered it up. There is no point in debating this topic here, and nobody can say for sure what really happened, but do you really believe that a plane hit the Pentagon and vaporized while leaving intact bodies on the ground?

During the Iraq-Iran war in 1980s Khomeini’s disregard for casualties - namely, his preference for human wave attacks by twelve and thirteen year olds, many mentally challenged - unnerved even the super sensitive snowflake that was Saddam Hussein.

See what this NBC Tehran correspondent says:

Haifa is in Israel, by the way. Trump either has to back down or this will be a real big mess.

Israel I think has interception capabilities, so it would sort of be a hollow threat. I know that Netanyahu is under corruption investigation of some sort, but would he still have the power to glass Iran? How easily could they do it?

If anybody is interested, the top comment here is updating all news from both sides in a very timely and unbiased fashion. (Just stay out of the comments Section, while mostly full of good intentions, I prefer to keep to the general updates for the first few hours)

are they sure they are rockets, and not exactly missiles? I think missiles tend to be more sophisticated and have a longer range.

I’m not sure, it’s just being reported as posted to news outlets and …twitter…

What a weird fucking timeline were in.

even worse:

are working Iran & ISIS to plan more attacks on us.

The news I was watching said the attack on the base was Iran showing it’s citizens that they could respond with a strike against US targets.

What’s our response?

Will Trump risk throwing the entire region into another endless conflict with possibly millions more dead or will he attempt to negotiate like he did with North Korea? Which Trump do you think we will see?

The glorious warlord Trump or the genius negotiator Trump?

And where does it go from here?

But not 100% effective against Hamas rockets. Iran has better weapons for sure, and even a few missiles getting through is still something. At this point we can only hope that Trump backs down, because whatever happens will be bad.

If Iran actually attacked Israel then I would be shocked if they didn’t retaliate, regardless of what is going on with Netanyahu. But it won’t be easy, by the looks of things Iran is highly unlikely to win but they will do some damage and the whole middle east will erupt into chaos. No good can come of this one way or another.

The difference here is that NK didn’t attack US troops and military bases. We can only wait and see, but if Trump backs down then odds of him winning another election are going way down.
