Logically that makes sense, especially with a complete lack of reported casualties.
Logically, Iran HAD to strike back, or lose any support from their own country. regardless of their agenda or subjective/objective opinions on how they operate, from a point of power, this was the only option. Either they have the worst fucking aim of all time, or they actually made an incredibly smart decision, bucked up for their country, and also showed the US they arent trying to immediately go for the kill.
But apparently well have to wait until Trump gets his beauty sleep, and see if were fine or (more likely) in a full blown war involving many nationalities bright and early.

Any thoughts on Paul’s comments from before? Certainly looking pretty true at this time.

Trump just said he will make a statement tomorrow. is this laziness, or shrewd because he needs some damage assessments to come out before he says much? Also, he might wonder if the pace of events slows down overnight?
Idk, but softballing in a statement about the power of our military in the middle of that tweet doesnt bode well.
I think i just saw some of my answer. The Iraqis have some causalties, no American so far, and they are waiting for daylight to assess. If no American casualties, less so for Trump to really do as much?
True, but they have Nukes. Gives Iran incentive to develop them so they won’t be fucked with.
I’m absolutely no fan of Iran. I’ve hated them for 40 years. But a war with them is something you just don’t casually get into on a whim.
Since they will probably strike anywhere we have troops we would need to have developed multiple alliances around them. We should also have a response to every conceivable thing they could possibly throw at us.
If this leads to a wider conflict, I hope we have all of this mapped out.
I also heard we knew about them readying missiles but did nothing. If we wanted to, we could have knocked them out before they were fired.
We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Even I could have told you this much. Past Presidents also knew this to be true. Do you think Trump knew? Do you think he even considered it? Did he know who Soleimani even was?
Ok, so did Iran just breach Iraqi sovereignty? Did they just declare war on Iraq? Will Iraq consider this attack on it’s soldiers an act of war?
I’m really guessing NO.
My understanding is that Iraq is half ways a vassal or Iran, but a lot of Iraqis are Shi’ite anyway so they are sort of guests. It is just that those that are playing along with the playbook of the US are expendable.
However America is now an instigator. Other nationalities died for our decision. This could get complicated.

The Iraqi government already kicked our troops out. The Iranians fired at them before they could leave. We weren’t welcome anymore anyway.
