Intermittent Fasting Plus Thermogenic

So I’ve been doing a 24 hour fast once a week for a little while now and I like what I’ve seen from it. However I recently started using a thermogenic containing

300 mg caffeine in the daily dosage
1,3-Dimethylamylamine HCL
Yohimbe
Bauhinia Purpurea L. (which effects the production of certain thyroid hormones)

My question was, do you think it would be a good idea to continue taking a 24 hour fast once a week while I’m on this stuff, I feel like fasting on thermogenics might be a bad idea for muscle retention, but frankly I don’t know. Any input/advice would be appreciated.

I feel like the nutrition forum threads lately have just gotten weirder and weirder…

people need to use the search engine FFS! This thread would be more appropriately asked in the IF thread that is already fairly large. Youd get the added benefit of the IF users opinion as well!

For the sake of brevity and because you are a newb Ill just say I do the odd 24hr fast and will often drink a lot of coffee on that day. I dont use thermogenic supps though so can say for sure what you will experience. I dont think you stand to lose muscle necessarily, but whether youll lose significantly more fat is debatable.

Fasting will potentiate most thermogenics containing yohimbine

I really hate starting new threads so I’ll post my question here.

I’ve gained a ton of weight lately, and lets just say most of it is around my gut (as is typical of men).

Like many of you, when I eat, I like to EAT. Thats the way we are and thats why many people today are going through the IF phase successfully.

There are many different protocols out there, many of which require loads of supps to be taken during the fasting period to help preserve muscle and what not. Long story short, I’ve been spending a lot of money lately on school, bills and helping my parents out with bills since they are in a financial rut. Im running low on money currently.

I was thinking of doing a “pulse feast” type of diet, much like the one on this site, but pulsing with leucine instead of protein powder or BCAA’s. I’m shooting for 3 pulses of 5g during the day, with a big low carb meal at night. I would have a nice refeed once a week.

Anybody have thoughts on this? I’d greatly appreciate it.
