awesome man some kinks in the way but every meet has them especially your first one![/quote]
Thanks friend. Like I said, I still have BIG plans.
It’s a shame you didn’t finish but it sounds like you did the smart thing. And the lifts you got are damn solid so it cool. Besides it’s your first meet so it’s a learning experience after all.
Do you plan on working on a wider grip in the future?

Thanks and maybe …
Shit happens, just sucks it was on meet day. Atleast u didnt go down with a serious injury. Sounds like there was the potential for that to happen if u pushed it. Ice and ibuprofen man.
Keep doing what you do, you’re a strong dude. No doubt those records will be yours.
At first glance, one would want to push through and get a total. But kudos for playing it smart and preventing from having to stall gains by having to rehab an injury.
Good lifts man. I’d say it takes a lot of will power to not risk injury, and make the smart decision to not DL. Just think of the damage you can do once you’re 100%
Good job at the meet man, you made a smart decision… back on teh grindz.
What fed was your meet? You said u still got the bench and squat records, or you’re talking about the future…
Solid work, man. You’ll kill it next time. Ever think of trying to find a group to train with (if you train alone)?

Thanks guys

I do lift with a team. I’ll try to lift with them more often now.

I’m talking about now. USPF just started up a raw division, so the records are ripe for the picking.

Good to hear. Training partners make a huge difference.

Si
I’m projecting AT LEAST two days of painful walking. The pain will probably peak on Monday due to inflammation and eccentric damage. I’m going to be work with the sled to aid recovery as well as supply some volume for my lower half since I won’t be squatting or pulling from anywhere to one to two weeks. I’ve never had a groin injury before, so I can’t really ballpark how long it’ll take my body to heal. It’s not super serious, but it’s not a light injury either. As far as training goes, I already planned on running 5/3/1 for strict press and push press and Coan/Phillipi for deadlift. Everything else is trained and built how I want.
Dang spar, i hope the injury isn’t too serious. But you did pretty well for your first meet, circumstances nonwithstanding.
You will do better next time. With that first meet under your belt, you will better know what to expect next time.

Not just that, you weren’t too far off from getting what you wanted to achieve. You also hit a few records in your weight class your FIRST time out.
As you said you made a few mistakes and your experience will help you avoid them next time and you will do much better.
Now where are dem videos of the lifts man?

Could of taken a token DL to finish the meet and get the other lifts in the record book.

Could’ve but didn’t really feel like worrying about it.

One of my teammate’s sister recorded some of my lifts. He’ll get it to me as soon as possible.
Very impressive squat and I’m glad you got a good bench recorded. Whilst not being able to deadlift is no doubt annoying, it probably just displays further that you are a smart lifter and I expect you to go one to many more records. Good stuff.
