See, I hate weak men and it just pisses me off that so many men are weak mentally!
Only getting hotter, I’ve been walking all day long with this visiting government guy, it is fucking shitty, but good guy, good company. I have to help him do a site survey and get him out of here so I can get back to my training and regular work.
I’m happy for the company, but hate the interrupted training. Been working 16 hour days…hopefully tomorrow will be somewhat normal…we’ll see.

Good training today, weaker than last time, I’ll be changing to front squats for 2 to 4 weeks as my ME movement.
The weakness is not necessarily a bad sign as I’ve been walking a lot this week and working very long hours. I half expected it but hoped it would not happen.
I had strained my neck a few days ago and although not being able to train because of work sucked my neck is fully healed now.
I find it difficult to ignore all the morons in the gym…just try to keep my head down, I keep forgetting my headphones and sandisk.
I think I’m adapting to the heat slowly…
Just got ten boxes of metabolic bars in! I love them and they are good for supplementing my shitty diet over here. I’m not a big shake fan, but don’t mind Surge after training.
Enough of the book.

I would say the long days definitely have an impact on training. Is your gov’t guy still there?
This may sound odd but what do you do for leisure over there other than train? Are there places to go? Do you have books to read? What is day to day life like?

Good question actually. I work 7 days a week 12 hours a day, but usually more just because. At the smaller Forward Outlying Bases FOB’s, not much to do. I Read books and lots of them, order books from Amazon all the time, I have three 500 gig hard drives full of movies, I walk around, I drink lots of coffee. I don’t act much different than I do at home actually.
While the gov’t guy was here we took the truck and drove a few kilometers up the road off base just to see what we could see. I did the same thing once before with a friend. Us Civilians don’t carry weapons, or most of us don’t…
Very few Army folks ever see the outside of a base. The ones who do are infantry, engineers who look for IED’s and mines, and Special Forces. Most Army and civilians work on base, some Army and Civilians don’t have hard jobs, I’ve seen Army folks who wear their PT uniforms all the time.
They have bases in Iraq with pools, nothing like that here.

I had an easy work day today so I went for two walks outside and then one on the treadmill in the gym.
The two outside walks were less than 10 minutes each. The treadmill was 20 minutes and then stretching and mobility. My legs were really sore so the walking, stretching and mobility helped.
Deadlifts are the best mass builder for me so I’ve decided to deadlift every week.
I’m going to use the template from the Coan/Phillipi 10 week DL Routine only I’ll go light so that I can focus on bringing my squat up.
I used very light numbers to come up with the training template for DL and said I’m at 275lbs now and want to go to 315. Week 11 will have me maxing and I’ll find my true max on Week 11 and possibly do a real balls to the wall 10 week’er after this if my squat is up.
If my squat is around 315 for 5x5 by then I’d consider taking my DL from say 385-395 to 405-425 while maintaining my squat.
My squat always lags my dl. My quads are my weak point by far.
I’m hoping to be able to do all my dl’s with a double overhand grip during this training. We’ll see, I’m looking forward to putting some meat back on my back, glutes and hams.

It sounds like life there is a bit tedious and wearing. It’s got to be hard on you mostly just working and existing for an undetermined length of time. If it’s for a finite amount of time, just about anything is tolerable. However, when it’s open ended it must get you down. At least I know it would for me.
