Information on Steroid Ban

Hey guys, Im working on a term paper on how the media creates and environment of fear that can influence us and our legislators to make decisions based on that fear rather than rational thought processes. I have seen it stated many places that the AMA, FDA, DEA, etc. all recommended that congress not classify AAS as a schedule 3 substance, but that congress did so anyway (all of this amid a panic over a “high school steroid” epidemic), but I have not been able to find this information anywhere besides for commercial sites that are generally pro-steroid to begin with.

Does anyone know where I can find this information from a more credible source?

Thanks guys.

I’d search within the AMA first, as the other two you listed might provide difficult in finding original literature. You’d probably be good to look into the early legal proceedings regarding AAS scheduling. I really have no idea where to start though. Good luck.

Iv been digging through legislation, but finding actual congressional proceedings is proving to be a real pain in the ass.
