Indigo-3G Project and Beyond - My Transformation Journey

The gym is closed today but I am heading in to get my training taken care of. No time to rest.

Wishing all of my T-Nationites a Happy Memorial Day. For those of you that serve, MAHALO NUI LOA.

I haven’t posted in a while. Pretty much the same things going on. Thought I would share a video from my training yesterday. Yes I am totally cussing at Amit!

This was the third Superset with a total of 40-reps each set.

SQUAT DEPTH COMPARISON:

10lb PR and just a little more below the 10-inch depth line.

Two things I have noticed by looking back at pictures:

  1. How much smaller my upper body has gotten
  2. How much saggy skin I have developed since loosing the 100lbs. Will take the saggy skin over the extra weight any time.

CAUTION: FOOD PORN

CLEAN CHEATS:

CHEF SALAD: Romaine Lettuce, Roasted Turkey Breast, Tomatoes, Green Onions, Red and Orange Peppers, Carrots, Cheese, Turkey Skin, Pepperoncini and a very creamy dressing (Avocado and Cilantro).

Served with a Gluten-Free Baguette that had lots of Kerrygold Butter on it.

Decided to keep this week’s cheat meal pretty clean as the pizza last week made me sick. Cheat meals don’t have to be loaded with lots of junk. A cheat meal for me is getting something that is not on my regular intake.

For instance, my weekly menu from Amit Sapir says no Tomatoes and Carrots. This salad has both. It also has a boiled egg which is not usually normal.

Now you might think that is Bacon on the salad, but you would be wrong. I forgot the Bacon, so took the skin of the Roasted Turkey breast and crisped it up in the oven. Let it cool and crumbled it up on top. You have no idea how great that tasted.

DEPTH COMPARISON on SQUATS

How low can you go?

The white line is my depth marker. If you blow the picture up you will see a red mark on the white frame of the machine. This is 10-inches up from the floor.

Have been working really hard with Amit on my Squat form and depth. When I got back to Squatting in January, post December knee surgery, I had a lot of trouble with leaning forward. Decided to go into the Smith Machine to help program the body for what it needed to do. It is really starting to carry over into the regular Rack.

Celebrated my 50th birthday this past week with the big party last night. This is what my cake looked like! Complete with the T-Nation logo and the Biotest name on the leg of the lifter. Love it!

Aloha Everyone.

I haven’t logged in quite a while, but thought I would get one in while I have a few spare minutes.

I am still coaching with Amit Sapir. As of this morning I am down 120lbs. This past week I lost 12lbs. I’m sure a lot of it had to do with my dental issue and only being on liquids for the past seven days. As I go back to solids, I’m sure I would gain a couple pounds back. We’ll see how that goes, maybe Amit will have some idea’s for that.

Here is a fun comparison shot for everyone.

I came across the shorts I would wear in all my Indigo project log updates. I put them on and took a picture of what I look like in them today and then put them together. WOW! Then I took the shorts that I was wearing in photo’s when I first started with Amit and put those on and did the same side-by-side comparison shot. The last pic is what I wear in every pic I take for Amit now with the red shorts.

It’s fun looking at things like this. I love how the area in the legs just hangs in the after shots. LMAO. Obviously showing the loss in the legs.

Yesterday

morning I went to use my lifting belt and the prongs went way past the hole’s. Figured it was time to adjust the belt again. I knew I had taken a picture once before when I adjusted the belt. I first got the belt in 2013, which in the 2015 picture would be the first two hole’s that are showing. August 2015 I moved the metal plate over to the third and fourth hole.

But DAMN!!! I did not realize I had adjusted it this many times since I started coaching with Amit Sapir. If you notice on the right side of metal plate, there are only two more holes left. I am now using the sixth and seventh hole.

I am going to need a new belt in the next year. Thinking about the SBD belt.

Mahalo to Testosterone Nation/Biotest for their continued support and amazing supplements that have helped me with this hard fought transformation. Big thank you to all the coaches I have worked with over the past five years that have had a hand in my amazing journey. John Meadows John Romaniello Chris & Dani Shugart Christian Thibaudeau and of course my most current Coach, Amit Sapir.

Aloha Everyone.

Just wanted to give a quick update. I wrote this on my Facebook yesterday and thought I would share it here as well.

As I begin to crest my sixth year of a major body transformation, I thought I would share with you a little peek as to what’s been happening.

I actually have a neck. At the same time, I found some Lats and Traps.

Mahalo to all the Coaches and Testosterone Nation for the part you have had in my amazing journey. To my current Coach, Amit Sapir, thank you so much for hanging in there with me.

As Amit has really amped things up this week in my new training regiment, I have noticed a few things.

  1. Little sleep. As my body is trying to come to terms with the insane amount of volume, it is so exhausted that I am not sleeping as good as I should be, for me.
  2. HAWNGRRRRYY. I am actually waking up in the middle of the night…STARVING.
  3. The muscles are SORE. Which, in itself, is a good thing. Too many stairs to climb to sneak food in the middle of the night.

Aloha Everyone.

I had the best conversation with Jared this morning. I realize I have not posted this pic in my T-Nation training log. Here is a six year comparison shot. The first pic is when I started the Indigo project back in 2011. The current pic was taken last month with one of my competitors on her last lift day in the gym.

WOW. What a difference. I think it’s just shy of 175lbs. Again…WOW. Mahalo Jared for the awesome feedback and going over some of the supplements with me. Please give everyone my best.

A hui ho.

Welcome to my training log. Mahalo for the kind words.

I have come a LONG way in the last six years.

Many thanks to my great sponsors at Biotest/T-Nation for all their support with coaching and supplements.

Mahalo to the amazing coaches I have worked with, like: Chris and Dani Shugart, Christian Thibaudeau and last … all the great accomplishments achieved with Amit.

Mahalo to all of my amazing family and friends for all of the support and encouragement.

Still rocking it! Any notable lifts recently?

Aloha Lonnie.

There hasn’t been a lot of heavy lifting this past year. Doing a lot of low weights and high reps at the moment. I get to start more heavy weights next week. Really excited about that.

I was diagnosed earlier this year with Lipedema Stage 2-3. Than in May/June it caused my lymphatic system to basically shut down causing Lymphedema. They also found a service vein obstruction. With the diuretics and a blood thinner I had to change up my training for a while. I am now off the blood thinner, and I just finished a very intensive Lympedema decongestive therapy.

Most people have just one type of body fat to work with. Unfortunately I now know why it’s so hard for me to drop more weight than I have. I now know why my legs are the way they are, the Lipedema.

Unfortunately, the Lipedema is throughout my whole body, but it has really settled more in my lower half. It’s very painful and I have apparently had this disease since puberty.

Though diet and exercise does not change the amount of Lipedema fat I have, it does help to keep off the regular body fat. As well, as it helps to keep other medical conditions from cropping up.

I sincerely think the Indigo and Curcumin have played a huge part in reducing the inflammation that generally comes with the Lipedema/Lymphedema.

I will continue pushing through like always.

I will post and let you know how the training progresses in a couple of weeks.
