Yeah , I get it. You make good points. About reverting back to your previous body, that could and does happen to a certain degree at any weight/bf.
Mitigating side effects by beginning and holding a lower bf during cycle makes a lot of sense. That said, much of the side effects are genetic. Some guys have bullet proof cholesterol and BP. Some guys go bald and get gyno. Much of this has to do with genes.
Lastly I view the use of testosterone as a training stimulus. Sure it will help aid in weight loss but really it’s about growing muscle and feeling good. I’d be more concerned if the guy was a newbie lifter and a low bf% than the other way around. Based on the lifts he’s a pretty strong guy. The test will help him gain strength and muscle and he’ll fell good on it.
NOT RECOMMENDING ANYONE DOES IT. Just not disapproving for your reasons.
Wow that’s surprising. I’m eating 3000 calories and when they are clean I drop weight. Started this cut at 201lbs and I’m down to 194lbs currently. 40/40/20 ratio and about 1lb drop per week avg. Granted I’m still not ‘cut’. My genetics suck for vascularity.
Although you are correct about the location of visceral fat, when one has a protruding or “beer/pot belly”, the general cause is from underlying visceral fat. Now he doesn’t have horrific amounts, but it’s a pretty safe assumption to make that he has more than what is ideal or healthy.
I have some genetic gifts. My cholesterol is always great, my hair is excellent, and I easily build size in my shoulders and my back. However, I have a few genetic shortfalls, and metabolism is one of them. I’ve always had a hard time getting leaner, no matter what I do. In my previous life as a fat(ish) guy I had to eat 1,500 calories/d to really lose serious weight, and it took nine months to drop 50lbs. But putting weight on? Shit, I could hit 210 if I ran a mild 12 week blast and ate a lot of clean food. But I’d be quite a porker at that point. I’m cursed with being a little doughier than I’d like, but I just have to adjust my diet a lot and it’ll eventually work.
Wow this ended up being a great thread. Is it bad I’m almost always a little jealous of the guys that get visceral fat lol cuz the fat I get is always subcutaneous (and I know that’s healthier) but damnit guys that get visceral stomachs always look better other then the protruding part lol. Guess I should be happy tho. I think that’s why I have so much loose skin on my stomach because of the sub fat. I also went from 300 pounds to 208 and probly lost 100 pounds of fat atleast so that has a lot to do with it lol.
Nope. I have a few unique tattoos that would make it relatively easy to find me. Beyond that, I have a very good job and that keeps me from doing almost anything even mildly controversial in public. I will say that I think I look like total shit. My wife disagrees, but she’s sort of supposed to. I wouldn’t take advice from me if I were going on looks alone. Hell, I often refuse to follow the diet advice that I have given to other people. It’s part of fighting a battle with depression for a lifetime. You know how to help others but you often ignore yourself. It’s who I’ve been since I was a kid. But I learned long ago that if you close your eyes and listen you can learn a lot more than if you use looks as a basis for judgment. I’ve seen rich men do dumb things with money and I’ve seen poor men become millionaires because they knew more than they let on. So I dispense my advice and hope that it helps people. If they care to know what I look like then they’ll have to live with the mystery.
I agree. My comment was made in good fun, should have used some emojis or something.
Also, would like to point out that my asking for a photo was in no way a low key Callout. I believe dude is big and he usually has great advice. I was just genuinely curious, never doubt full.
Willing to bet you’re like @aaronca who harbours the belief he’s small when in reality holds a lot of muscle mass… a “body dysmorphia” of sorts, a “bigorexia” appears to be very common within the bodybuilding community (natural or not), perhaps it’s a natural adaptation stemming from the lifestyle. I’ve harboured this belief myself (that I’m small… and height wise I’m not wrong), and I sometimes trick myself into firmly believing it until I see myself in a mirror next to my peers… it’s a distinct and significant difference.
I’m willing to bet you look great, as a matter of fact I’ll put down ten schmeckels (rick and forty currency) that you look FANTASTIC!
That being said, don’t put down any photo that has serious potential to put you’re livelihood at risk. I’m sure you’re aware of this, just wanted to reiterate what Dexter Morgan, the vigilante/serial killer said… DON’T
Dexter is a television program about a man who murders those who commit unforgivable crimes but get off scot free, tis a very good show. @dextermorgan has modelled his username and profile avatar after the main character within the show (just making sure my joke is understood in case it’s misconstrued as an insult/jab of sorts.)
Do as I say, not as I do. It is incredibly wise to listen to folks who go by this mantra. For arguments sake, if you’re not in A+ shape due to your diet… you EASILY know what you’re doing wrong and how to get there, it just might not be that important. Kinda where I’m at in life with my physique.
Those who give great advice, often have that knowledge because they’ve done it wrong in the past.
I’d bet money you’re pretty damn yoked though. But you clearly know your shit either way.
I agree with the others. It makes almost zero sense to do it in your position. Once you pull that trigger you can’t take it back. I have no distinguishing marks at all so I felt I was pretty safe sans face to post.
