Improving Bench Arch

I have been trying to improve my bench arch lately and sometimes as I bring my legs back I feel a tightness/cramp up in my hips and have on occasion felt a “tweak” in my lower back.

Any general tips or mobility type drills you have used to improve your arch?

Not really. Some people have had good success with arching over a foam roller, stretching hip flexors, stretching low back, etc. But if you practice every rep of every set like it’s a competition Bench, you’re flexibility will improve pretty quickly. If you only get tight for a big Bench, then it will take much longer.

Stretch your hips before every workout, along with your back. Foam roll if you have one.
