I usually don’t workout more than 3 days in a row, but I want to take every advantage of my days off. I’ll probably take my two day shifts as recovery days to make sure I give my muscles enough time to blossom into the sexy, shapely creatures I wish they were.

I am indeed a guy. My name is Steve. 61 years sold from Sydney Australia. Retired 747 Captain. Twice married. Two sons, one 40 the other 32. Youngest has always called me Stiffler.

For some reason when I signed up, I couldn’t have ‘Stiffler’ as a user name and Jennifer Coolidge was in Sydney at the time for something called VIVID that we have every year in early June so I just stuck the ‘mom’ on the end and the rest is history.

Yep… it was in one of your older logs but I can’t remember which one and was something that you did on a rest day. From memory it was something like ‘rest day today yoga, stretching, assballing and a movie on the couch with pants off’… made me giggle!!!

Ok, last workout in my 5 day stretch and it went quite well.

I am tinkering around with adding some things so I don’t get bored.

Front squats
100lbs x 8
100lbs x 7
100lbs x 7
BW sissy squats right after x 23

_ I realized this would make for a stellar superset to keep the quad pumpin’ N’ burnin’

Elevated hip thrusts
I did this as a rest/pause set :
160lbs x rest/pause to 20 reps. Last 5 just felt like hell
SS just the bar back squats x 15
Hip thrust partials
90lbs x 20
SS just the bar back squats x 15

The squats felt so good, so I also added in weighted
80lbs x 12 w/ good deep pause/stretch in the hole.

Ideally, I want to rotate between back, front, and SSB squats.

Deficit stiff leg deadlift
I added an extra plate to deficit myself further
100lbs x 10
100lbs x 11

DB elevated front foot split squats
Really slowed down this movement today and it felt fantastic.
2x27.5lbs x 13 per leg
Straight into
BW Bulgarian split squats x 13 per leg
Those also felt better than I remembered, so I will add them in.

Maybe rotate between
Back squats, front and ssb
Ssb split, db split, and Bulgarian split squats
Stiff leg deficit deadlifts, deficit sumo, and pin good mornings

These all feel great/natural to me and I think I can build quite well with these and they seem to target the intended muscle without having to over think it.

I’m kind of nervous for tomorrow. I will be answering the 911 line myself (with my mentor), and I don’t want to make any mistakes. I will probably go to bed at like 7, so I can get enough sleep. I kind of felt like I had too many days off and I was getting a little stir crazy.
Mostly just lonely. If I’m at work I don’t feel lonely all day.
On my first day off I feel happy.
On my 3rd day off I feel lonely again.

Maybe that’s a good thing, IDK. Makes me feel like picking up OT will be for the human interaction more than the money, lol.

If I do two leg workouts per week I don’t want them to be identical.

Can I suggest PPL(a), off, PPL (b), off, etc?

You mean instead of always using my 4 days off as gym days and two work days as gym days, just keep rotating?

I understand on paper it looks better for recovery, but I think I recover better on my days off vs 12 hour shift days with less sleep/less food. You know what I mean?

I’m pretty much the king of under-recovery and still making progress, so that’s what I would do personally, or at least that’s what I would aim for. 80% compliance to plan tends to still bring most of the results you’re looking for.

IDK how long your typical training session lasts, but what I’d recommend will take less than an hour each training day.
