Makes total sense that you wont gain right now becuase you want to stay in that weight class. After the comp you will have to really sit down and think longe/short term goals. Do you want to do another meet? If so when and what weight class? If you want to do BBing you will need to really focus on gaining a ton of mass(not that you dont have a good amount now) to fill that tall frame out. That woudlnt mean that you need to not do PL meets but you woudlnt be able to hit them in the weight class.
You got your head on straight so you will figure it out.[/quote]
You’re basically reading my mind lol. I won’t do BBing for another few years, though. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be thinking about trying to add a good amount of size sometime later in the year. Just going to see how things are going. Most likely, though, I’m going to try and hit 220 over the next year I think. Not a huge gain in weight, but it would be an all time heavy of around 10 pounds.
A) Bench 265 x 2 x 5
B) Sumo Deadlift 405 x 2 x 5
C) OH Press 155 x 2 x 5
D) Deadlift
500 x 3 x 3 volume PR
15 minute cluster set: 500 x 1 x 19
E1) Constant Tension Alternating Lying Leg Curls (one leg is in an iso hold while the other is doing a rep)
not much weight x 8 x 6 x insane pump
E2) Cable Pullthroughs
10-20 x 6
NOTES: The triples at 500 felt like absolute cake today. I know I could have hit a PR if I wanted to rep it out (current best is 5) so I’m happy. The cluster set was rough as it always is but I’m happy with how many reps I got. Would have liked to get 20 but form was starting to break down so I rested a little bit longer between reps at the end.
Well, I’ve had pretty “meh” sessions today and yesterday. Not sure what it is. Yesterday I went in much earlier than usual, so I wasn’t awak. And today, I went in a lot later than usual, so my head wasn’t really in it. I know, excuses excuses. And tomorrow I’m leaving for Columbus, OH which is an 11 hour drive, so it looks like I’ll be taking the next three days off (obviously I’d much rather spend time with my fiancee, so I’m not complaining). So I’m thinking since my training is kind of screw up, and I only had 1 week left of this 12 week block, I may just do a mock meet Monday when I am back in the gym. I would like to train in my singlet, and get a feel for where my lifts are at. Than for the next 4 weeks, I’ll basically be doing my own training of whatever I feel like any given day (following a split, but not any certain layout).
After the meet, I’ll be changing my training up. I’ve always been interested in Sheiko, so I may give that a shot. It will still be low reps and high volume, but not really sure what. I’d like to take a break from the cluster training, though, and just do some more simple work with heavy straight sets. I’m open for any suggestions!

You could train in your singlet for your fiance…too far lol?
Cant really help you as i bastardize everythign i do because i never feel like its enough volume or frequency. LIke right now doing conan for trap bar deads on squat day and conventional DL on deadlift day. Seems like a legit program.
I took it very easy today. Partly because I felt like crap, and partly because I’m 4.5 weeks out from the USAPL meet.
Squat
375
415
Did not go for a third.
Weird because 375 went up pretty fast but 415 was a grinder lol. Depth was MUCH lower than usual so if I widen my stance up a bit more and don’t go as deep in the hole, I should be good for a 455 if I get crazy.
Bench
300
320
340 Very weak and cheap 5 lb paused PR
Deadlift (no chalk )
495
545
NOTES: It may look like a terrible session compared to my normal numbers, but considering how I felt waking up this morning and going in today, I was very pleased with how it went. I drove over 22 hours total this weekend, and didn’t get in until 11 last night, so I’m looking forward to how things will go once I actually peak and get psyched up and crazy for the meet. The PR on bench was a complete grinder but it was weird. It just didn’t feel too heavy, but I just had zero explosion and acceleration today. Also, I don’t feel like I got hit by a train like I usually do after meets, so this makes me happy because it tells me I have much more in me but just wasn’t able to show it today. Today puts me at a 1,300 total without even going for a deadlift 3rd attempt, so if things go like I want them to the day of the meet, I’d like 455/355/615/1,425. Let’s do it!
