Are you talking about me, personally? I am. I’m not hugely concerned with the abortion issue except for trying to figure out what’s consistent with freedom. I would much rather get freedom for the born figured out before worrying about freedom for the unborn, although I do believe it’s something that needs to be figured out eventually.
I certainly wouldn’t say that although I think we both agree on the too many people in jail part if I remember.
I’m just not sure how I’m supposed to think churches and Good Samaritans are going to take care of all the people in society who can’t work and provide. Some churches have multi-millionaire pastors and doesn’t the Catholic Church have billions of dollars? If they are the answer what are they waiting on?
That’s where I come back to the government shouldn’t have to do it point. I would like nothing better than for the government to do nothing for the kids I work with. Nothing for the elderly who can’t work and nothing for the disabled. I just don’t think the answer is “don’t worry church and volunteers” be doing all that. And in a fully privatized system?
I don’t see it happening but I won’t say it’s impossible. I just don’t see anyone stepping up to do that. So I guess I will work here with how life currently is and in the reality of it. And hope that if that alternative would be so much better someone hurried up and created it.
But I do think if we’re going to have taxation we have far worse things we’re using the money on than helping out people who can’t help themselves. And I certainly don’t feel like I’m a slave.
Why do you keep trying to draw someone into saying “taxation is slavery?” It’s obviously not slavery, since slavery is forcing someone to work for free. Taxation is more like extortion/protection money.
How did that person acquire the property in the first place?
It’s funny how a nation built upon taking land by force and genocide, is considered to be stealing money and property from the very people who depended upon the government to steal the land they now enjoy. Did people expect the government to kill the Indians for free?
What is the last society to have zero taxation and how successful was it?
If government exists to secure those rights that you said how do they go about doing that with zero resources?
If taxation is theft then every successful society seemingly for centuries has stole from their citizens. What keeps a group of people from starting a new society without this theft?
The U.S. has a net worth of over $100 trillion. 46.2 million Americans(or, at least, in America-not sure who’s counted) are considered impoverished. I believe the U.S. could give every impoverished person in America over $2 million. What’s it waiting on?
It could give every PERSON in America about $300 thousand.
*corrected mistake
So now you’re FOR government doing this? What a turn around for you.
Your argument now is that the government you hate so much should do this and not churches which is being said that they would take care of stuff if government didn’t exist?
Weirdly the person you support as President has said we cant have a debt problem as we print our own money.
If every successful society for centuries has stolen from its citizens and people are unhappy about it why haven’t they created an alternative?
If government exists to secure those rights how do you propose they do that with zero resources?
Where did I say that? That’s $100,000,000,000,000 that it has removed from society, and you blame organizations with maybe 1/1,000th of the U.S.’s money for not doing their parts. The object of your love could make every impoverished person in its borders a millionaire with what it has taken, and you blame organizations that could, at best, barely make every impoverished person in the country a thousandaire.
You’re quickly approaching zeppelin, zeb, and @zecarlo levels. I almost hope Trump loses in November so you can go back to being reasonable.
Just to be clear in the past bit you’ve been angry that I want a speed limit and that I support having government. And that I view Coronavirus as something worth taking seriously.
All views I would have taken no matter who was President.
But yeah having speed limits, government is completely unreasonable. I’m sure tons of people feel like you.
Come on you have extremely fringe beliefs and you’re going to talk about someone else being unreasonable? I don’t have anyone to compare you with. You’re maintaining Nick levels of radical anarchy and show a massive disdain for others all while proclaiming to be a neighbor loving Christian.
I’ll ask again and maybe you won’t invent something to deflect yet again?
If every successful society for centuries has stolen from its citizens and people are unhappy about it why haven’t they created an alternative?
If government exists to secure those rights how do you propose they do that with zero resources?
Secession movements work sometimes, and they fail sometimes. Why would those with the means to control people not do it? There are degrees, by the way.
Maybe. If I start comparing billions to trillions as though they’re similar, then I’ll definitely own the “unreasonable” title.
Some. Usually arrogant people that show massive disdain for Christians while telling people how to be Christians.
Governments don’t exist to secure rights…for most.
So you’re living in an unjust country stealing from people since it’s inception and your solution is to complain about it on a bodybuilding message board that has maybe 20 consistently active PWI posters?
It’s not a maybe. You’re (at least lately the most as zepp hasn’t posted in a long while) promoting views that are the most radical and shared by the fewest amount of people on the board and you’re going to call everyone else unreasonable? That’s fine, but don’t expect people not to chuckle.
Ahh I’m guessing I’m the arrogant one while you call anyone who suggests society has rules are nanny statists and unreasonable? You may read the Bible more and sing more songs than me. But when it comes to real actions that help people who need it I think I’m confident my time spent and actions exceed yours. Maybe I’m wrong. Hell I hope I am. It would be good to see more people acting unselfishly on a consistent basis.
Really? Seems like a lot of the stuff would be free to do or with some budgeting from some people they could do it right now. I’m not sure I’m buying oh it’s just because of the tax on that good they purchased is why they aren’t doing it. If they just didn’t have to help pay for fire trucks they would spend all sorts of time, effort, and money on the less fortunate.
It’s not the second house, rv, liposuction, watching reality tv etc that is stopping them. It’s them having to have a bit of money go towards the road. I’m sure all the people who feel robbed and complain about paying for education for kids or healthcare for kids will ALL start donating time money and effort if we just had a tax cut.
