Not employed, which is why I’m living in BC right now. I got my BBA in accounting and have only landed two serious interviews since March. Most everyone else in my graduating class can’t find work either. The job prospects here are grim, I remember a few of my professors urging everyone to leave Michigan after graduation because it’s so bad.

Your son should definitely go Army. I served 4 years, but as enlisted. If I could do it all over again, I would definitely go in as an officer. My Army experience certainly had a tremendous impact on my attitude and outlook on life, I can only imagine what it would have been like if I was an officer.
Why not re-enlist?

I left MI in 2000, well before the eoonomy tanked. I only go back for visits. There are definitely better places to be for employment. I was married to Army briefly and the daughter’s hubby is Army. My son is a good person, not a cocky bastard like the guy in the thread saying he wants to be a pilot. He’d be an officer everyone would like. I hope you figure something out soon. I have a step brother who’s been unemployed well over a year with 3 little kids. BTW, Seattle is awesome

I went grocery shopping on Black Friday evening. The grocery stores were deserted.

I could honestly really give a shit if anyone likes to waste their time shopping on Black Friday, but the numbers don’t lie.

The best deals DON’T happen on Black Friday.
The best deals now a days are available online days before Black Friday.
Cyber Monday is the next “big thing.”
It’s ridiculous hype propogated by sheeple.

THAT’S all I’m saying.

And yes, I did get to work at 4:00 am this morning. :)
Had to be at Best Buy 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. yesterday. Ended up sleeping 14 hours when I got home. They did get on the border catered for lunch today though.

I bought some shirts, a dvd, and an e-book from elitefts with their big black Friday sale, I am a terrible person.

I never understood this whole waking up at 3 AM to go shopping thing. Ill pay a little extra or try to find a deal another day.

Hell yeah dude. The day of Black Friday I had myself two kickass bowls of scrambed eggs, ground beef, and nacho cheese. Almost made it all worth it.

I was stationed it Ft. Lewis and while Washington is nice, it rains way too much out there. My grandpa has offered to let me stay at his condo in L.A. which is only two blocks from the Staples Center. I would love to go, but I don’t think the employment situation is much better in California - but it definitely couldn’t be worse.

Hm, can’t hurt to go out there and give it a try if Gpa is offering a place to stay?

I passed on the crazy 3am crap, and decided not to go.

Then my girlfriend called me around 9, and asked if I’d go with her to the mall around 11. I reluctantly agreed, only to find out, upon my arrival at her house, that she got some Victoria’s Secret coupons in the mail and wanted to buy something slutty to wear for me. So, we got to the mall at 11, were out by noon, and the trip was full of win!

So, the Original Poster can put that in his pipe and smoke it.
