If You Shop on Black Friday...

Best Buy…that has hot to be Black Friday HELL. Glad you got a good work out after! (What part of Michigan?)[/quote]

Haha yeah, it’s pretty nuts. Kind of a hate/respect thing for the people that decide to camp out in 20 degree weather with 30 MPH winds for sure. It’s been cooooold the last few days.

I’m in Southwestern Michigan. I won’t say what town specifically on the public boards, because we have a few stores in the area. Have to keep my profile sligthtly low-key,

just got back from the store lol.
got a fifth of Gentleman Jack and a 12-pack of Warsteiner.
oops.

Yeah since the old adage is “Time is money” I think it works both ways…in that I’ll spend a bit more money later and avoid the hassle and crowds.
Though I’m Canadian anyway, so we don’t have this shopping day. If it were a day off for me I’d just enjoy it again…but that’s me…I hate going to Costco when it’s packed with people.

Ah yes 3:30am at Target for a conference call, 4am-8am selling leave and go to powerhouse for a little workout now I’m back until 8pm. The best part? telling target “guests” I don’t work for target I just sell the phones here

I usually don’t venture out on black friday. I’m in the camp that would rather pay $100 on something, get in, out, and be done, than spend $70 on it, and have to deal with endless masses of people, and all the traffic on the way there and back.

This year I made an exception. I ran down to the gun store, to buy an AK-47. I have never seen one for sale in California, so I had to jump on it. I saw it when I was there the other day, but didn’t have the money on me, so I went back today. Luckily, I can take back roads the whole way there, so there was no traffic. The place was packed, but It still took me less than an hour, round trip.

I win at black friday.

Best Buy was a bitch today brah, I am sure you had the same shit at your Best Buy…regardless, I got 3 hours sleep was in at 9, left at 9 and it’s 3am now and I am still wired…

I don’t understand why people go to stores either. Everything can be sold online for the SAME price, but you may have to pay for shipping. Many sites have free shipping AND NO TAX, which is a big deal when you are buying a $1500 TV, which I was.

Anyways - I saw that at the local Best Buy they were selling a Samsung 55" LED TV (1080p, 120hz) for $1500 + $150 tax, so $1650. I was about to be a douche and wake up at 4:30am to get to the store, but then went online and found the same TV on buy.com, for $1570, no tax, free shipping. Ordered that sucker. Booya.

Oh you got stuck with the nasty mid, eh? Those 12 hr/closing shifts on B.F. are actually the worst imo. I actually quite enjoy opening just to get it the hell out of the way.

What’s lame is I slept from like 11:30 until 7:30 this morning (have to open again) and still don’t feel like I caught up on any sleep whatsoever.

The grocery store near me had a black friday sale on grass-fed whole beef tenderloin (cuts into filet). Just 2.99$/lb. Picked up 5 lbs of high-quality beef for $15… was worth going out for

Heh heh. I know which Best Buy SSC works at. I’ve only been there once though, I HATE Best Buy.

I never understood the Black Friday thing. Like stated earlier, most people will wait in line for 8 hours only to buy a few small dollar items. Lame. There are very few things I would wait in line 8 hours for.

Kudos to all you douchebags up and out at 4am helping stimulating our economy!

Admittedly, I wasn’t quite so noble. I was home in bed stimulating my wife.

I worked yesterday. The food and sundries aisles were surprisingly quiet but as expected, the major sales item were a mad house. I just hate working on a Friday,Period.

My parents live in Belleville, my son goes to school at Western Mich. I like the SW side of the state. I’ve seen a few guys posting from Michigan on T-Nation and always wonder where the hell these guys were when I lived there! So um why does a person choose to own an AK47? Premium beef sounds like a great reason to head out.

I just graduated from WMU in March, I currently live in Battle Creek. What is your son studying?

Criminal Justice/Psychology. He is thinking of entering the Army as an officer. A lot can change in 4 years, so we’ll see. I just want him to graduate. His older sister, who has a ridiculous IQ, decided not to bother with the whole college thing sigh Are you employed with your degree?

Not employed, which is why I’m living in BC right now. I got my BBA in accounting and have only landed two serious interviews since March. Most everyone else in my graduating class can’t find work either. The job prospects here are grim, I remember a few of my professors urging everyone to leave Michigan after graduation because it’s so bad.

Your son should definitely go Army. I served 4 years, but as enlisted. If I could do it all over again, I would definitely go in as an officer. My Army experience certainly had a tremendous impact on my attitude and outlook on life, I can only imagine what it would have been like if I was an officer.
