Yes. I wasn’t really considering the ammo with that recommendation. Just the platform.

By the way, that XCR looks really nice. The AK has some advantages for a couple of reasons(price and common use are two), but I may have to add one to my arsenal. [/quote]

Yeah I really did alot of looking around before I ordered it. If you want one I would order it like right fucking NOW, because they are so backlogged. I still have a wait of like 2 months!!! In the meantime I’m stocking up on ammo.
BTW, you know anything about scopes???

Ok I know at this point I’m probably gonna be labeled as an XCR cheerleader. One of the reasons why I bought this rifle is because it can easily be converted to use the 6.5 Grendel round. Well I’ve read about it but I just found this video. If you can shoot thru a car and still be able to kill a person I’m down 6.5 mm Grendel bullet in test, AR-15 - YouTube

There are far greater authorities on optics than me but I’ll try. What do you want the scope to do and how much are you willing to pay?

I like Leopuld, sp, for good but not to expensive. You can get a decent 3 x9 with mildots in the 400$. I also have the new Bushnell 6500 3.5 x 30 I think with mildots that I bought for app 700$ for my bushmaster 50 caliber. It has external click adjustments btw.

Depends on what you want.

I am concidering these for the LR-308 I have on order. I will be hunting with it though.

Trijicon ($$$$)and Eotech seem to come very highly recommended for different purposes. I think the navy seals use them as well.

4x32 seems to be popular with the AR croud.

Eotech or Trijicon red dots for close quarters if you don’t like iron sights.

People seem to like these mounts for swaping optics without re-zeroing.

Do you know how much it costs to switch between calibers? I am assuming just barrel and matching bolt.

They actually seem like a good buy. With the price my high standard AR would bring now on auction, I may actually consider trading up.

Mock-up of the upcoming Robinson XCR-M in 7.62x51 NATO

Yeah, but a 7.62x51 will do that, too. Even a 110-grain, if you’re concerned about recoil (which you, being a big strong dude, needn’t be).

And you can get 7.62x51, Jawara. As much as you want.

Hell, even if you didn’t have access to military supplies, you can still about 3 rounds of 7.62 FMJ for the price of one round of 6.5 Grendel or 6.8 SPC (unless you want to buy shitty-ass Wolf ammo) and the .308 will outperform both of the smaller rounds.

Never mind…found it. $550

Oops. That wasn’t the mock-up. THIS is.

That would open up a shit load of caliber options.

.243 WIN
.270 WSM
.300 WSM

…are ones that I would be interested in. If they could do this for $550 as well, they would be way ahead of the LR-308 or AR-10 platform. They would probably want to offer these and the .308 in 20" barrels as an option.

insane. puts anything viewable with todays optics within range.

.300 win mag will kill anything i would be shooting at within any range I could possibly hit something.

Lol planning on hunting Bigfoot or something???

Cognitive bias?

Aimpoint FTW. Get one with a LaRue mount and call it a day.

Then you can save up some cash and get the 3x magnifier to go with it.

i have 2 Eotech sights and I think they’re fine for quick shooting at close to moderate distances, maybe 200 yards. they’re not precision, but they’ll work fine.
