It’s prob a pretty funny sight to see me during the tanning session… I hit all these random poses to try and ensure a nice even tan including a little Romanian Deadlift action to ensure I don’t have what we call “smile lines” under my butt cheeks like some women get when they don’t spray tan the glute fold area before a figure comp. Lol, I used to do that too when I was tanning prior to my comp.
So I have officially finished my first Mike Robertson program! I actually reduced the weight on a couple of exercises yesterday because I just wasn’t feeling it and I wanted my form to be perfect. Hopefully I will be getting a new program from MR in the next week or two. In the meantime I will probably just be doing my foam rolling, warm-up/mobility stuff, acute/corrective exercises, pushups and pullups, planks, and energy systems stuff.
I know that sounds like a lot of stuff… but it’s a lot less than what I am doing now! hahaha
I REALLY hope my new program contains some heavy lifting… I seriously feel like a part of me is dying from not being able to throw heavy shit around… CBear said the same thing. She had to switch it up a little so that she could lift heavy again… oh yeah… she says HAI to everyone!
I am kinda stiff from my front squats yesterday and I had to cancel my massage tomorrow b/c of work… oh well! I will have to spend extra time with my foam roller!
The weather is finally getting nice here which makes me SOOOO HAPPY! I will probably spend some time with the Prowler next week since it’s nice… I also may run some sprints outside or run some hurdles on the outside track at my gym… sounds like a BLAST! =D
Skye - I wish I could divulge… but we will prob have to wait until things start to move forward. I wouldn’t want to do ANYTHING to mess this up! ;D PROMISE you guys will be some of the first to know once I can talk about it! =D
Thanks guys! I am still waiting to hear back from MR about what exactly he needs from me in order to write my next program (pictures, videos of lifts, feedback, etc)… Sarah and I were going to take videos of our lifts today to send him (I thought I would have heard back from him by now… but I know he is busy busy busy!)… but anyway… I worked 25 of the last 35 hours… (4 pm to 2 am on Thursday and 11 am to 3 am on Friday) and I am BEAT! SOO… no videos today. Prob do that Monday…
Tonight I am going to see that movie She’s Out of My League or something like that… and going to a NICE dinner with the bf and some friends! Can’t wait!
Tomorrow is more work… and hopefully another nice dinner and relaxing evening with the boyfriend! (oh yeah… and more tanning! =D =D =D)
Masch - my University of Kentucky Wildcats won the SEC Championship this weekend in OVERTIME! It was awesome! We are a #1 seed now going into the NCAA championship and I am PUMPED! Our record right now is 32-2 AND… the two teams that beat us (South Carolina and Tennessee) have both been CREAMED by us shortly after they beat us… showing that it was prob just a fluke that we were beaten. =D
So I have to apologize… my log has been SOOOO BORING LATELY! =(
Last night Sarah and I shot videos of all of the exercises we have been doing on Mike Robertson’s program… then we sent his the videos along with qualitative feedback so he can design a new program for us… I can’t WAIT to see what it is!!! =D
Will definitely let you know as soon as I get it!
Going to lift tonight… I feel some foam rolling, some pullups and some conditioning work coming on…
yes, no apologies Molly. working 25 of the last 35 hours…and still training hard. always always impressive. glad you got your eyes on your gluteal folds!
So I hear back from Mike today… he addressed a couple of my issues/questions…
I was a little frustrated b/c my friend/training partner Sarah (sbmart2) was improving a lot more than I was and getting more out of the program… Mike said it was probably due to the fact that I have been training consistently for a good bit longer than she has and therefore my bad habits/movements/postures are more ingrained in me than hers were in her. Plus she can train more often than me… so that’s another issue.
My lack of improved ankle mobility is kind of puzzling him though… I guess it’s (again) b/c I can’t train as often as I’d like… and maybe it just takes more time and I am not noticing small improvements?
Either way… he said he will design the next program and we will just keep chipping away at my issues… =D
So tonight I did a quick, random workout on my own for the first time in FOREVER! It felt GOOD!
I started with some foam rolling and stretching… then I did the following:
Pullups
5 reps/4 reps/3 reps supersetted*
with Glute Ham Raises (<----REALLY focused on keeping my pelvis tucked and driving my knees straight INTO the pad instead of letting them slide down the pad)
10 reps/10 reps/10 reps
Barbell Glute Bridges (I think I could have gotten way more if I had some padding on the bar… all I had was a thin towel)
6 reps/10 reps/10 reps @ 235 lbs supersetted*
Incline DB Press
8 reps/8 reps/8 reps @ 40 lb DB’s
i can never find the manpon to do glute bridges, i think ford ate it. i have been considering using a heavy db, i think it would be more comfy since it would sit on the hips instead of the lower abs. of course you’d be limited to 150 unless you could borrow a db from kroc, but i like to do them for 20’s anyway.
that xtend stuff is just awful… sorry. i’ll be sticking with the swf since it’s about the same price. i taste the bcaas really strongly over the flavoring, and i couldn’t get it to dissolve all the way either… thanks for letting me try it though
i had no idea you were a dev too, i guess you work freelance? good luck with your new account and take care.
