If Only I Were Clever

Freaking incredible front squats! Yeah, you’re workouts are totally nutty. Awesome but nutty. Good work girl!

Thanks for the yoga tips - I’ll try one of those out!

Very nicely done on the front 143#. Very interested to hear the coaching cues.

Thanks y’all! glad you like the video! So per usual I have been working like a maniac… but I got to relax yesterday at my Uncle’s house… I have like 8 cousins, a 2nd cousin and two aunts with birthdays in February… and like 5 other members of my family with birthdays at the end of January and beginning of March… so we always have a big “First Quarter Birthday Bash” for them and it was so fun! There were about 25 of us and my cousin was in from LA with her 8 month old who is ADORABLE! (he is half Korean and half East Indian and he is just gorgeous!) Anyway… after most everybody left… there were about 8 of us ladies sitting around chatting and laughing for about 2 hours… it was so energizing and fun! After they finished about 6 or 7 bottles of wine… they broke out the BOXED wine and kept drinking (they are Irish Catholic, mind you!) and we were all cracking each other up, telling stories and making jokes… It was one of the best evenings I’ve had in a long time. Especially because afterward I picked up the BF and we went to dinner and came hom and fell asleep watching a movie!

Today we went to brunch with my Mom, Dad, Step-dad, sister and nephew and that was awesome too! After that, I came home, took a nap, then went and picked up carry-out and spent the rest of my evening relaxing with my honey and watching another movie. This was the BEST weekend I’ve had in a LONG TIME!

Tomorrow is errands, lifting, and a massage! LOVE IT!

Hope everyone had a GREAT weekend! =D

You live a charmed life, Molly.

Glad to see you livin’ it up and enjoying your insanely busy life.

sounds like a dreamy weekend.

lol @ u screaming ur hate about the high rep fsqs. haha

keep working hard, miss molly!

Thanks Skye and Deja!

Yes… so I front squatted AGAIN on Monday… I only have 2 workouts and I alternate between them… so it feels like I m front squatting every 5 seconds…!! I switched from a 4x8 set rep scheme to a 4x10 this week… and I was NERVOUS! I used 153-155 for 4x8 last time… so since I was increasing my reps by 2… I dropped down to 148-150 for all 4 sets of 10. They were brutal! I was only supposed to rest about 90 seconds between sets… but I ended up resting about 6 minutes between sets 3 and 4 because I was so beat I didn’t even think I could squat the bar if I tried!

I had 3 people watch my form… same conclusion: some of the squats were good… some not so good… but they were never terrible. My friend said it kept looking like my form was going to go to shit but I always “saved” it right before it did. The bar gets away from me and I fall forward a bit sometimes… but I always seem to catch it and stand up with it… I am definitely getting the “core work” that was intended when these squats were prescribed!!!

I did this workout Monday night… followed by a massage. It was heavenly! I am still quite sore today (nothing like heel elevated front squats to LIGHT my quads up!!!) My biceps have also been very sore after these workouts… I am guessing it’s from face pulls? (I don’t do any direct bicep work…)

Been working like a maniac and have a HYOOOOOOGE meeting tomorrow morning with a GINORMOUS potential account and I am freaking out a bit! i would really appreciate everyone’s thoughts and prayers! =D

So I am have been a little MIA… but I want to update you all… the meeting went AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! Literally as well as we could have expected (or maybe better!) I can’t give too many specifics… but I will let you know whats going on as it unfolds and moves forward!

So I trained my dancer friend on Wednesday… we only had about 35-40 minutes… so we did several circuits really quickly… they were as follows:

Trap Bar Deadlift x 6
Pullups x 3
Pushups x 10
3 sets total

Step-ups x 6
Inverted Rows x 8
Push Press x 10
2 sets total

Plate Pushes (25 lbs) x 2
Prowler Pushes (90 lbs total, high handles) 50 yds each, 3x

Then I showed her foam rolling… it took her a minute to figure out how to position her body to really benefit from it… but I think she liked it.

Overall, she did REALLY well! I obviously would not have put her through that if she wasn’t doing a great job… form was impeccable and the only thing that really smoked her was the prowler/plate pushes at the end.

However… she did call me on Thursday and tell me that her back was so sore that she could hardly wash her hair… I expected that because (from what I have seen) they don’t do that much back work in her classes … and her elbows were kind of sore from the deadlifts because she wasn’t used to holding that much weight… so it was pulling on her tendons/joints a bit. Anyway… she said she had tons of fun and wants to do it again sometime! =D

Next week I finish my last two workouts from Mike Robertson… so my friend Sarah and I are going to take videos of our lifts so that we can send them to him and he can send us new programs… I am very excited to see what the next workouts will look like! =D

That’s all for now… it’s beautiful and sunny here (still only 50 degrees but it’s WAY nicer than it’s been)… we are supposed to hit 60 this week! YAY! =D

that’s great- so glad to hear!

I’m so glad to hear that your meeting went so well!

And what a great workout you took your friend through. It sounds like a lot of fun.

Enjoy the sun! It’s been beautiful here as well, I’m crossing my fingers that spring has finally arrived!

Thanks guys!

So I am finishing up my initial program from Mike Robertson and I am hoping to get a new one soon! I am very interested to see what’s in store for me next… and I will be SO GLAD to stop doing front squats for a while! I trained tonight and had a good session… nothing too exciting… the workout is getting pretty BORING! =D Still making sure form is PERFECTTTTT… weight/rep increases where possible… everything else stayed the same.

Tanning update: I have been using my tanning system religiously and I am OBSESSED! I am up to about 6-7 minutes (3-3.5 minutes on each side on my body since it’s a 1 sided stand up system) and I am loving it! My mood is better, dry patches of skin on my face are disappearing, and my skin is starting to take on a nice glow! I think this is one of the best investments I have ever made! I will continue to tan 3-5x a week for short periods of time and I am getting my vitamin D levels tested soon and I may adjust my exposure from there… then once spring/summer roll around I will just try to spend some time in the sun daily and supplement with the tanning system as needed. It’s prob a pretty funny sight to see me during the tanning session… I hit all these random poses to try and ensure a nice even tan including a little Romanian Deadlift action to ensure I don’t have what we call “smile lines” under my butt cheeks like some women get when they don’t spray tan the glute fold area before a figure comp. Then when they are on stage they have these 2 bright white lines under their cheeks… it’s pretty embarrassing. Not that I have a glute fold or anything ;D

So all in all, life is good! Hope everyone is doing well!
