Ideas for my Boys

Ok, so I have two friends that struggle with weight gain.

one is 6’2 175-80 works out hard and eats from the time he wakes to the time he goes to bed…I’ve seen him take down an XL pizza before bed and wake up lighter.

a sample day would be nice as an outline to give him. Thanks in advance.

The second guy is around 5’9 170 sickly ripped but cant go over 170 to for his life. His issue I think is Ramadan…I know its a fast but how do any of you following Islam beat it?

IDK what to tell them, gaininghas never been an issue for me.

I guess what I’m looking for is (like I said) a sample day for them…seems like theyre in kind of the same boat.

eat more food, every day. Not just an XL pizza one night before bed.

Yes, there are people that eat a lot and still can’t gain weight. They just simply need to eat more food, more consistently. That simple really

Yep, I used to eat alot when I weighed 140-150 and never gained any weight. One day I said ‘fuck this’ ate 4-5 christmas dinners a day and hey presto, 1 year and a bit later im 210.

Make them write down everything they eat for a week. Post it here.

the dude observing Ramadan is just going to have a eat a ton at night. Might even try extensive napping during day to get more eating time at night.

And for Skinny Mcgoo, besides eating consistently (most likely choice), get an idea of his activity level, he may be burning a ton of cals, and if it’s from something dumb like cardio or soccer, have him dial it back.

Ramadan boy reminds me of me, fasting is killer catabolic. Amazingly, my fastest gains have been in the two months directly following fasting. Lower metabolism or something, idk. However, I have strongman cousins (I’m new to lifting while fasting) who tell me with the 4/5AM meal thats customary before fasting, take a crapload (literally) of fiber. Somehow it slows digestion… or something. You’re so lethargic (normally) while fasting that RMR is negligibly low.

Also - check their gut health - you are only what you assimilate.

Agreed, probiotics (L-Acidophilus and such) are awesome in the grand scheme of things. You can eat the highest quality everything, if you’ve got gut problems you’re not the only thing gaining from your food.

They’re both living with me til mid june so I’ll have a log by the end of this week for you to check.

One thing I noticed is that they run for an hour everyday(unknown to me before they settled in). So, I’ll have them cut that out or at least down.

Aw hell thats killer - I seem to have been an exact clone of 170-ripped boy, except at 120. I was a distance runner so my runs were between 6 and 9 miles daily, down to 4 while fasting (because apparently it seemed like a good idea…) Compounded with lifting simultaneously, I was a (mini) caloric furnace. Cutting running down to no more than 3 miles at a time and 2/3 days a week and within 3 months I packed on 20lb, then came size. Its not just the expenditure of running itself, but what it does to your metabolic rate or something.

Find them some women to enjoy and motivate them in the guy.
When you want to impress a girl,
you’ll push yourself further and make your body grow and make better gains. Load up on protein and cut the carbs.

Only thing, make sure these are fairly good looking women. Big fat bulls will do nothing in motivating them to train harder and grow in the gym! Lay off the drugs and booze and enjoy a good piece of ass. It will push you further and train harder in the gym!! A good woman is worth a ton of supplements, and cheaper too!!

I thought this thread was going to be about your balls. I was like, WTF? HCG maybe?

Yeah seriously this needs to be the first thing to change. Start with reducing their running (duration or frequency), and even try to convince them to stop long distance all together in favor of interval sprints and assure them that long distance (the way they’re doing it) is going to kill any chance at muscle gain.
