After reading what e-man said about Tren keeping him up with insomnia, others saying it gave them horrific nightsweats, but Bill Roberts and others talking about the effects of Tren, I’ve started thinking. Back in the day I had a job that kept me up at weird hours all the time and I lived on a ship. I’d have horrible problems with insomnia. After that I had to make a decision and I didn’t want to become sleeping-pill dependent. So what I started doing was about 3mg of melatonin sublingually about an hour before I’d wanna sleep and I would be knocked out and tired as hell, no problems sleeping. I understand Tren sweats and insomnia are probably of a much stronger variety, but has anyone given any thought to the use of melatonin while using this drug?
yes, melatonin seems to help, and valerian root helps as well. I’ve been taking both of them together. The insomnia has kind of faded for me and I’ve slowly been backing off of the Melatonin dose. As for the night sweats, I’ve had maybe one or two. I guess everybody reacts a little different.
Melatonin doesn’t do much for many people, myself included. Perhaps here’s the explanation:
Apparently, “melatonin supplementation will only help you fall asleep if melatonin levels are low. If melatonin is given to patients with insomnia who have normal melatonin levels, it will not produce a sedative effect. Low melatonin levels are, however, a common cause of insomnia in the elderly.” (from The Seven Pillars of Health, by Don Colbert, MD.)
You know, this reminds me. I was just reading a post in the FAQ where someone was saying they always chew up their stanozolol tabs and then hold them under their tongue. Every time I’ve ever taken a 3mg tab of melatonin I get no real effect, but every time I’ve used the sublingual tabs from GNC it knocks me out and I get great sleep. There is definitely something to be said for the sublingual effect of different substances.
see if you can get your doctor to prescribe ambien. that stuff is magic.
Good stuff fellas.
I’ll try that sublingual/chewing up the melatonin for sure.
I know this post has been on here a while, but i was a manager of 9 GNC’s in S. FL. plus Vitaminshoppes and a few private owned nutrition co.s. Sublingual melatonin works MUCH better than the swallowed tabs.
There are enzymes within the digestive tract that breaks down swallowed tabs, i forget which ones. (I went to college and forgot most of the good stuff i learned “in the trenches”) But H is definitely right about that.
Also, there is research that says the lights must be out for the melatonin to work. This may seem elementary to some, but i used to take it and read a book or study, and nothing would happen, then i found out why.
Also, you will build up a tolerance fairly quickly, so take it when you absolutely need it. Hope this helps some…Oh, it won’t do SHIT for night sweats, that’s just your hormones in overdrive, sorta like a woman in menopause!
One more thing about sublingual products, some do need to be taken this way. Melatonin is one, Vit. B-12 is defnitely another! There is an intrinsic factor that will only let one absorb smal amounts of B-12 internally. That’s why people get injections, but try the sub. and you will see an energy increase if you truely are deficient
