I'd Like to Start Sheiko

My names Matt and Ive been lifting for 3 years now. 2 months ago I sprained my coller bone and havent lifted since. Before that I was on a westside routine.

Id like to start the Sheiko #37. Ive heard its done wonders for people.

Im a little concerned that this will be to much to start back up with. And that my bench will suffer. Im trying to get ready for a contest in December, so coming back from this needs to go right. If anyone has any expirience with this program please share.

You don’t want to just jump into Sheiko, especially a program like 37. The volume will be very rough if you’ve been on a Westside program. Do yourself a favor; look on EliteFTS under the Q & A for Eric Talmant.

He gave out a one week reintroduction after some time off and a two to three week transition plan for a rated lifter recently. This will help you ease into the volume and the frequency of lifts.

After that I would do #29 since the lifts are the same as 37 but the volume is less. You can also e-mail Eric’s friend Dave Bates for a personalized program; his e-mail should be in some of Eric’s posts.

I just started this way myself after doing Westside for 3 years and this intro has helped me get acclimatized in a hurry. It is tough but I don’t feel so destroyed after workouts and my technique is definitely improving. You are probably better off underestimating your maxes at first too.

If you can’t find it on there PM me and I’ll send you what I have. Best of luck!

I’m in week 7 of a 12 week beginners program, and I can tell you, it’s the toughest yet most satisfying training I’ve ever done.

Contact Dave, he’s been a great help and I feel like I’ve gotten on the right track with this type of training.
