I Wanna Talk about How to Get a Girlfriend

In fairness, exile is an end befitting of his hero.

Agreed. He’s openly talked about his psychiatric conditions, like schizophrenia (this thread) and I think also being bipolar in other threads.

Ha! I think I might be on the money. I was thinking schizoaffective disorder. Or a schizotypal personality disorder with histrionic traits.

I’ll say, he put up that squat vid when people asked - I didn’t see him as trolling, delusional definitely fits the bill more.

He’s got a solid squat, too.

It begs a philosophical question of if you can engage in trolling without being a troll.

I concur that he was most likely not a troll (and, if we want to be really accurate here, the correct term would be troller), but would argue that he still engaged in trolling.

Having a little fun with some touchy dudes isn’t a crime!

So, if you make a thread about how to get a girlfriend, get advice, ignore it all and just say it’s okay, I’ll just pray for my punani palace and some tekken tang, and you’re not being serious, that’s trolling, which is not a crime, but is a violation of site policies.

I just think he was dead nuts serious about it all, which is why I didn’t think he was trolling. People who have that level of entitlement and delusion often find it difficult to find a companion - lines up perfectly.

Them poor old bosses need all the help they can get.

If it were a crime there would have to be intention. I think that the element of intention is missing.

We could even look at it as a natural state thing. The subject walks into a store, finds these amazing shelves full of food and gorges. Is he a thief? Of course not! He’s entirely devoid of our social sophistry.

So Bap, in his own state, odd as it may be, doesn’t see these thoughts which coalesce in his mind as out of the ordinary at all. He’s simply displaced in a world of real norms and social constructs that we are accustomed to.

Deontology is silliness and I will not stand for i!

I’m gonna have to look that up. Is it like teeth or something?

Edit: Woops. I’ve been mistaking altruism for deontology. Like bass ackwards.

It’s a school of philosophical ethics that bases the morality of an action by intention vs outcome (poorly summarized). Since Kant was big into that, I know it’s wrong.

I couldn’t get through more than a couple paragraphs of Kant. It was like beating my head against a pile of wet sand.

Kinda like reverse utilitarianism? The means justify the ends?

Utilitarianism runs into that weird thing where you start quantifying happiness by volume and beg questions about if the happiness of many outweighs the suffering of one, and soon you’re doing absolutely heinous stuff with the intention of doing the heinous stuff but it’s really GOOD intentions because you mean to cause the MOST good.

And that’s math.

And math is for wizards.

And I am but a humble barbarian.

I would imagine social norms are difficult to emerse yourself in if you’re unemployed, not in education and spend 8 hours a day studying philosophy and playing online games.

Being someone that struggles to get women and asking someone who never has a problem getting women is pointless. Guys who never had a problem getting women don’t know why they get women they just always did, so they’re not going to have any insight on how to tell someone who can’t get women how to get them. Or they might give you some advice that works for them that won’t for you. It’s not that different than a noob asking a lifelong bodybuilder how to get big they’ll tell you what worked for them and think it will work for everyone yet it won’t work for you.

Yes, b/c self-reflection and knowledge isn’t a thing … ::roll_eyes:

Self reflection or knowledge have very little to do with getting a woman. Other than using the knowledge of dressing nice or having a good career.

Wear clothing and don’t say anything that repulsive.

Smile and nod when she offers up the sex.

There. 2 step formula for success.
