Ah yes, the sad demise of proper spelling and grammar in today’s youth.
I don’t have anything witty to add…
But I DID find a great pic of Charlize Theron!
Mufasa
I agree. Things have gotten rediculous.
I tend to be a bit of a spelling Nazi (not that I don’t misspell occasionally myself), but ‘lose’ and ‘loose’ errors have become so prevalent recently that I am starting to have serious death wishes for people writing one incorrectly. Did they stop teaching spelling in school or what?

K, prolly showing my lack of culture, but I have never heard this phrase before. And I gotta say… I LOVE it!!
Thank God for t3h int4rw3b!!
On a side note, wasn’t there another thread on this before that also included things like “prolly” etc? HAHA!

Holy shit, what are you at now, about 2% body fat. Nice work!
Was on the bus (in London, UK) and this guy was chatting-up a girl - talking all “street” and what not.
The mother of the girl got on the bus and suddenly the guy felt the need to impress.
“I think think you’ve got a really lovely duaghter there. She’s very…erm…mentality.”. WTF? Mentality? Wtf is this guy talking about?
Needless to say half the bus were pissing themselves laughing (or at least trying to hold it in).
And what’s up with all these made up stupid words these days? I’m watching channel U and some guys spitting lyrics 'bout “Mess wit me and you’re gonna get CONK!”. WTF? Conk sounds too much like another word - I haven’t got time to be rapping and people think they heard “Mess with me and you’re gonna get COCK!”.
Yes, it is extremely annoying. Normally one could rise above it, but it’s hit the point now where half the time the goddamn word appears on this forum it’s spelt wrong! It doesn’t even sound right ffs! Anyway, I’m off to losen my tie.
P.S. Don’t worry, my special friends are putting me in my “happy jacket” as we speak.

And also ‘i could care less’. Theres something about it that is very irritating. Correct me if im wrong but isnt it ‘i couldnt care less’[/quote]
I believe you’re correct, but you bring up another issue for me, which is, people not using apostrophies or using them incorrectly. For example, “couldnt” should be written as “couldn’t”.

Well, I could care less, but I try to keep it at least at a minimum level.
It’s called spell check and it can’t read minds and make it all come out write. -Aaron
The problem is how many people need to use a spell checker in order to write a simple paragraph.
I blame the schools.
Sadly, I’m rather sure conversate came from the remix of Beyonce’s “Naughty Girl.”
“I know ya feelings gettin stronger 'cause when we on the phone now we conversate longer”

I’ll buy that argument. A lot of tracks bastardise words to make them fit with the rhyme … it’s no wonder they make it in to the local vernacular.

That one’s a peach. A spelling mistake that turned into one of the most common Internet catch-phrases (although it still looks stupid).

True. I write “stuff” for a living (contracts… exciting eh?) and it amazes me how people will use spell check as a crutch and then send out e-mails to VPs and such that they clearly did not read through a 2nd time.
What’s amazing to me is that I can hardly ever remember anyone using the term “loosing” until within the last year or so. It’s just not a common typo to make… and I think there is a core group of people out there using it as if that is how you spell “losing”. It’s hilarious… umm, and sad.
