Maybe I’m the only one who is noticing this of late (whether on these very forums or elsewhere on-line), but has the general population taken up a vote to stop spelling the words “lose” or “losing” properly? I keep seeing people write about how they need to “loose 10 lbs” or they need to be “loosing some weight”.
WTF is going on? Are they desiring the fat to loosen up and roll off their bodies? And yes, like Mugatu, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Is it just so hard to use half-decent English to express yourself? Hell, spelling “losing” cannot possibly be that hard.
Amen brother (I just finished watching Zoolander coincidentally). I don’t know what has happened or how it happened, but it shits me to no end. There are two aussie boards I frequent and it is prevalent there also. What the fuck is wrong with everybody. I think the sinners should come to this thread and explain themselves, post haste.
I find that they general population, especially those damn kids of today, have no grammatical or spelling skills (or should that be skillz) at all.
I know that a large part of this is due to the internet, but I wonder how many people actually write in the real world the way thay do on the internet.
I really want to kill people when I read statement like this:
‘Sup homeez, word is dat I gotta loose da fat so da ladeez can see my 6ers. I got me a shoe im rockin, but I dont know how much BF I gotta loose to get my pack to show its their.’

The wierd thing is that misuse of loose/lose doesn’t always occur in the middle of 1337/gangsta speak. I often see it in the middle of otherwise well-written statements.
Another one that pisses me off is “peak.” You do not “peak” your interest. You are not “peaked” when someone does something bad to you. You are piqued.
Frankly, I think people nowadays don’t read enough and watch too much TV.

Quit “whinging” already…
At least that it is a real word! lol
No, no no no no. Use a real dictionary instead of replacing “whine” with “whing” or I’ll “loose” it!
I was wondering which one you meant. Funny, though, that to “whinge” and to “whine” are fairly similar in meaning (although let’s be honest, the typical goober saying whinging has no idea WTF they are writing anyway).
“Conversate” instead of converse. WTF where did that one come from?
In sports nowadays they often refer to a player needing to get “untracked”. Apparently they really mean “on track”, untracked isn’t what he needs, jackass.
When will people learn that your and you’re are two different concepts?
I’ve got so many more but that would lead into a rant about the current state of education in America.

And also ‘i could care less’. Theres something about it that is very irritating. Correct me if im wrong but isnt it ‘i couldnt care less’
Yes, you are correct. Every time Someone tells me “I could care less”, I ask them, “really? How much less?” Then they usually look at me stupidly and I have to explain the whole thing:
If you could care less, that means you do care at least a little bit now. If you couldn’t care less, it means you don’t care at all, which is what you are trying to say, right?
