I Need Sleep

I need sleep. It’s that simple. It’s 3:22 am, and I’m not tired. At all. And I’m pissed off about it.

Here’s my plan:

I’m not gonna sleep tonight. I’m stay awake all night, and all of tommorrow.

I’m gonna tire myself out completely tommorrow.

At around 10pm, I’m gonna beg my dad for a sleeping pill, or at least a hard smack on the head with a shovel… If anyone can suggest something to help me sleep to subsitute for a sleeping pill (in case my dad refuses), and for other days, I’d appreciate it.

I’m trying to reset my sleeping pattern so that I wake up at 7, so getting up for school won’t be that bad. So I’m going to set my alarm for 6 and look at the sun a bit, to resent my biological clock (got that from an expert in sleep medicine).

Wish me luck. If anyone else had had this shitty problem and solved it, please share…

Don’t tire yourself out, just rest in bed, even if it takes you two hours. It’s better than staying up all night on a computer.

Sure you’ll be up all night, and then all of tomorrow(Dead tired, mind you.) And you’ll go to bed early in the evening and wake up fully rested, thinking you solved the problem, but four days from now, you’ll be back to square one, staying up all night again, getting your schedule straight, again.

Just accept the fact that you can’t fucking sleep like a normal person. I’ve been staying up all night and sleeping the next since age 15. For some reason I just can’t ever sleep normally, it’s always been really hard until I accepted it.

Look into some Melatonin.

Oh, and stay off the crack. j/k!

I’ve been falling asleep at 5 for the past 4 weeks, and waking up around noon.

I gotta be at school at 7am. Lying in bed isn’t an option anymore :(.

I often have a hard time falling asleep as well. Best advice I can give is try taking a hot shower, and just relaxing before you lie down.

Well actually the best advice would be to find a beautiful girl to play hide tthe weiner with for about an hour, and see if you can’t fall asleep after that.

My sleep schedule has always been fucked. I have also never needed much sleep. This isn’t new as I remember it being this way since college at least, and the last year of high school.

I can honestly get by on 3 hours a night and would feel pretty rested with 4. I am also a light sleeper. A white noise machine (creating ambient sound like waves or waterfalls) is the only way I can sleep longer.

I actually just did this to try and reset my clock. I’ve always had problems getting to sleep as well. I just tried melatonin…got nothing from it.

I like ZMA. It doesn’t help me get to sleep, but it does improve the quality of my sleep. I even went to the sleep clinic last week. They hooked me up to a shitload of machinery and kept me overnight. I didn’t sleep for the entire night.

I’m looking forward to reading some of the other responses and the advice offered by others.

I am also a night owl. I have to be at work at 7, four days a week. As soon as I get of, I revert back to staying up all hours of the night and sleeping all day. It isn’t unusual for me to sleep until 2 or 3 in the afternoon on weekends (my gf working nights just fuels the fire).

Have you ever heard of Rene Descartes? (He is the reason why we use the term Cartesian in math.) It was noted that he would sleep past noon every day.

Rene Descartes
Was a drunken fart:
“I drink, therefore I am”

I have had to rest my internal clock, as well. I stay awake for hpowever long I’m not tired. I clean the house, catch up on laundry, hang out on the computer, watch TV, whatever I need to do. I just go about my day. At 3 AM.

I’ll be awake for about 2-3 days at a stretch and then I’ll finally be able to sleep.

I can’t see the point of laying in bed from midnight (my usual bedtime) to 4 or 5 AM.

Just found this on yahoo.

i have severe sleep apnea. i had a sleep test at the clinic and the results of their study was that i woke up 512 times in 5 and half hours.

i now sleep with a CPAP machine so i don’t awake gasping for air. pretty scary shit i admit, but now after having lost 63 pounds, its getting better.

How old are you? It sounds like you’re going through what any student does over summer break…Staying up 'till 4 and waking at noon. Just give it a week. Force yourself to wake up at 7 am…but don’t take any naps during the proceeding day no matter how tired you are. It sucks, but the insomnia will go away in a bit while your body adapts.

If you want to fall asleep just take some benadryl.

Take up long distance running.
