A belt? You mean your shorts don’t have a drawstring?
lol, my power belt is made of anti gravity. See, I can only high squat 135 raw but when I put on my belt I can toss around 950 for reps but I only do it once to keep things on the DL…

Last time I used a belt, the bar I was squatting with instantly turned into dark matter and the entire universe sunk to a temperature of -infinity kelvin. Not worth it man.

On a serious note, here is the reason why I do not like my lever belt and wear my single prong Inzer belt 99.9% of the time. See the “extra” part of the belt. Where the arrow is? Well, that extra bit is inside the waistline & pokes me in the stomach. I freaking hate extra shit on the inside of the belt. It stabs me in the hips most of the time.
I’ve contemplated cutting it off but haven’t so as to not ruin the belt. The adjustment piece is not terribly time consuming but it does take a min and I just don’t like having to constantly fuck with shit. YES you absolutely can get the belt tighter with a lever belt but aren’t we supposed to leave it semi loose anyways so that we can push the gut into the belt? To each is own right?
I have never had the belt pop open on me powerlifting but I have had it pop on me doing strong man shit. The feeling of my guts flopping out suddenly while flipping an 800# tire was unforgettable lol.
Last tip. consider getting a belt that has a large adjustability range. Inzer adjusts just a few inches. I went from a medium to a large in just a few years. If I had bought a large I could have been GTG. One can make a belt smaller by adding a few hole of your own if necessary but it’s length is fixed.
I found leaving the belt loose so I can push into it just resulted in me having a loose belt that I was pushing into. I like having the belt tight and THEN pushing into it.

StrengthDawg, I forgot to ask, when you wear the lever belt, do you have the buckle in front of you or is it on the side?
In the front right in front of my belly button. I assumed that’s where it goes lol. BUT I have worn it off to the side to keep the “tag” end off my hip bone.
and by 'loose" I meant ‘stomach vaccum’ minus one hole to allow the pushing. ha

I found that having the lever in the front resulted in the issues you spoke of. Once I put it to the side, I didn’t experience any pinching or having the lever come undone. I notice most other folks using the lever belt seem to wear it the same way.

Thanks P, maybe I’ll give it another shot with that belt.

I really like mine from bestbelts, I went with double prong because it looks cooler
I think that’s what I’m gonna do, get the prime double pronged one from them…is it good for squatting dead lifting and pressing?

yeah, I got the athlete model, but in hindsight would’ve gotten the prime. It’s comfortable for everything I’ve tried it on so far except bench.
FWIW my friend had a bestbelt and later got an inzer lever and preferred the latter, and on the other hand read about the opposite scenario on another forum
One more for best belts. I have the athlete, it’s cut to my size, i got the color I wanted without waiting, it looks great, lots of support and it will last a long, long time. I do think single prong is less hassle, and considering you will have this belt a while it’s an important consideration.
Don’t get a double-prong. I made that mistake with my first belt. Much harder to deal with when you really cinch it down tight.
I’ve gone back and forth over the years between lever and single prong. I really liked a 13mm lever belt when I was listing equipped. Now that I’ve gone back to raw, I am liking my 10mm single prong quite a bit better. It’s softer and for whatever reason feels better on heavier sets. With the lever belt I used to lose any sense of back positioning or feeling and I didn’t like it – felt like things were out of place. Sounds weird I’m sure, but that’s been my experience.
I second the no double prong. I had one back in the day. It can be a bitch to get both prongs in the holes when you got the gut sucked in. Plus when you want to get the damn thing off there’s two prongs to get loose before your head pops from the pressure lol.
My understanfding of the reason for DP belts is for the larger guys. Since a big ol boy would have a lot more girth, the double prong helps keep the belt ‘straight’ while going around their midsection. Whereas a single prong may “Vee” a bit on a big guy. I don’t remember where I read that and I may be tripping on left over Turkey lol.
I have the Athlete (the 10mm) from bestbelts and love it. Second the Single Prong. We had a shared double prong in high school and that thing was a bitch to get on and off when you are fresh much less when you get a little fatigued and disoriented. I cant really figure out the purpose of the double prong.
I have a cheap 2 prong belt (like the one listed above for 12 bucks) that’s been a hoss for around 3 years now. I’ve not experienced any issues getting the belt on or off. I have been thinking about getting a new belt, but the old guy has been so good to me, hit a bunch of pr’s in it. Guess its kinda like your first, its tough to give up the belt you’ve had so many memories with
