I’m actually quite pleased to have found a website that actually supports and encourages women to lift heavy! I’m tired of having to explain to people why (as a woman) I like to lift heavy weights and why on earth I would want to be able to squat more than my bodyweight.
Seeing as my family and friends are sick and tired on me talking about lifting and my new PRs I’ve decided to join T-Nation so that I can share my achievements with like-minded people.
Granted I am probably a bit heavier than most women I know (76kg) I am quite pleased that much of that weight is muscle and I am particularly proud of my lifting records to date:
I have been weight training for just over 2 years now and love it… when I started I couldn’t do even 1 standard pushup (on toes) but now can do over 30 full rom pushups in a row.
I’ve become a big fan of overhead squats, snatch and anything to do with kettlebells - especially the TGU! Love using it as a warm up and finisher!
Basically I’d love to use this forum to record and log my lifting records … especially as this year I definitely want to work on getting my overhead squat and snatch up!
After reading the first post I figured you’d come from Crossfit - mentions of overhead squats and a lack of any reference to bench press gave it away.
You’re pretty damn strong so you should fit in well here.
Oh and hope you have a video camera/phone because you’re going to get asked for vids before too long. Just a heads up.

Haha, my thoughts exactly.
