14/2/22 lower stress cable workout today…thought id give the chest, front delts and triceps a wee break from all the pressing over the last month.

  • Seated long cable row
  • Stiff arm pulldown
  • Rear delt cable flye
  • One arm cable lateral raise
  • Straight rotating bar cable curl
  • Thumbless reverse grip cable curl
    2 working sets each

Low incline BB bench press and heavy trap bar deads off 4" blocks tomorrow.

Ive reduced the test400 down from 2ml every 5th day to 1ml every 4th, and instead ive added 25mg of anavar in as a pre workout on heavy lifting days. I find it has a direct effect on the workout in terms of increasing strength. No intention of increasing the dosage above 25mg. Minimal effect dosage.

Found this wee keep sake tonight around with my wing tsun grade certs lol. Met Dorian twice that day, he was signing these in a supplements store in Belfast, got to talk with him at length that day. I was amazed that he spent so long just waffling away to a then 21yo he’d never met. Was also amazed just how few people knew about he being there that day…ha, the days before social media.

Later that night i went to a his seminar, i asked him about being trained by Mike Mentzer, I asked “was it true that Mike put you though a one set biceps workout whereby you preformed a single static hold on the nautilus biceps machine and you (according to Mike) went looking for him the next day and told him the your biceps were bigger?” He said “That is absolutely true!! My biceps were bigger and that resulted in me staying in LA for an extra few weeks to be trained by Mike”. He went on “Mike was a really nice guy, but he on several occasions brought up the 1980MrO result, Mike was clearly still deeply effected by the result of the Mr O that year”.

Great story about meeting Dorian. I met him at a similar type supplement store seminar in London in 1993. He was a great guy and loved to talk bodybuilding and training. I had a similar copy of flex signed by him. Sadly I have no idea where it is now.

Hey Simo,
Ha cool, must have been how they made theyre money in the days before social media. Yes, he was waffling away to me and i thought to myself, heres the 6x Mr O, one of the greatest bodybuilders in history talk to me, someone hes never met in such an everyday down to earth manner. Then you’d guys like Shaun Ray and Phil Health who were up theyre own arses. Thats unfortunate you lost the signed mag, but no doubt youve the memories of a good day. :+1:

Yer it was a good day. Me and my mate actually got lost trying to find the place in Ilford and ended up getting there pretty late. When we arrived Dorian was in a room at the back of the store with his team and they were packing up. We went through to see him and he was so cool, signed stuff, shook hands and then talked to us like we were just blokes in the gym. We hanged for a while and then I remember Dorian walking around the shop picking up a t shirt and asking the shop owner if he could have it for free. My mate says to him, ‘who do you think you are, Mr Olympia’. Got a big laugh from Dorian and the crew. Pretty sure he got that shirt for free :joy:

Haha love it. Aye Dorian has a real dry cheeky sense of humour, bet he liked that one lol.

He seems a happier person now, think he was lost after his bodybuilding career was brought to an abrupt end. Think he likes yoga, cycling and dope now in Spain lol. Dont think he weight trains anymore, but still in decent nick.

Bloody good job mate. I absolutely hate giant rest pause or strip sets on leg press, for some reason they always make me wanna puke.

Thanks mate. Man I hate high reps lol. At the start in your mind your saying “I got this”, by the middle your thinking “one rep at a time sweet Jesus”, and by the end your left thinking “am not long for this world” before slithering off the machine like a piece raw streaky bacon lol

Best analogy I ever heard.

Been dealing with a neck/trap impingement, its sending pins and needles down my left arm into my hand. Pulling power on rows is down, but apart from that pressing and trap bar deadlifts etc arent too bad. We gotta keep on trunken.

Got myself a new open trap bar, power bar, plates and deadlift mats for my home gym. Looking forward to the nicer weather.

I know exactly what this feel like. My neck is not the best after an old motorbike accident and I often get a trapped nerve that causes numbness. Usually its connected to either too much time hunched over the lap top or too much driving,

Ooh nasty. Believe it or not i woke up with a sniff neck lol. Its thankfully getting easier now. Contrary to a video Athlean “reinvents the wheel on everything” X put out a while back about not doing rack pulls above the knee, rack pulls have relieved the symptoms to a large extent.

Great to hear mate,I always find the more I move the better mine is. Even just good old walking helps. How’s the training going ? Is it getting any warmer or drier over there ?

100%, even doing a bit of swimming has helped, stretching constantly too. Unfortunately its done nothing but piss down this week here, so haven’t been able to get my daily 3-5mile walks in, and i refuse to use the human hamster wheels in the gym lol. The only running i do is when the ice cream van is pulling out of my street lol
