…foul-mouthed. That’s quite a list of character defects.

I agree in part, but when you have nothing intelligent or witty to say and substitute that with rude words, then I consider it a defect, lol.

Hey now, cockknocker. Foul-mouthed isn’t a character defect.
Stop putting words into my mouth, cockknocker.

^^I would venture to say that 99% of all jobs have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to employees fighting lol

When I was in the military and on deployment my LPO and I got into it. He kept pushing the issue and I was gettin heated (I was a FNG and he was talking all this shit about something I was right about and he didnt want to admit it) My chief was standing right there and I looked at him. He knew I was pissed and he just nodded at me, letting me know we wouldnt get in trouble for what was about to go down and then I said lets go outside.

My LPO and I handled it outside of our hut and that was that. Didnt have another altercation like that with him again.
Awesome!

edit/ We also had a zero tolerance policy but who the fuck in their right mind wants to be known as a rat on the shop floor.

I was once told i could only jump farther than everyone because my feet were bigger than everyones. Sniff.

Does that get me in this club?

I know, I know, totally off subject, but probably just as important as the original post.

Whoa now, that looks like 0%! 11% is where it’s at! This stuff is HEAVENLY.

What I find mind-numbling is how the look of other people change when you have more muscle. It seems like lot of people just can’t go behind the image. Some guys will immediately kiss your boots if you can squat/bench/pull lot of weight and at the same time will be total arrogant dicks if you project an image of weakness

How did this gem fall through the cracks? Summed up the dick measuring nature of this thread very well - and in only three words.

I’ve been told that I have “fake muscles” because I drink protein, therefor my muscles are all fake and as soon as I stop drinking protein I’m going to be weak. lol

I don’t let things bother me too easily but this kinda rubbed me the wrong way, so I guess I can relate a little bit, but I just think life is too short to let stuff like this get to you. You do realize that not everyone thinks a large muscular physique is ideal, right??

I mean on this site it seems like everyone assumes that everybody and their mother thinks men with large muscular physiques is the ideal man, but thats just not true. I’ve gotten a lot of crap from people who see how much time and effort I put into nutrition and the gym saying, my muscles are “fake” because I drink protein or how disgusting it is for guys to get too big.

I don’t look at people who say this crap as being jealous, they just have a different opinion on what a male physique should look like. Just like I don’t like certain style of clothing some people have different tatstes in physiques. Either way life’s too short to be letting these people get to you. Anytime you stand out in ANY way people are gunna give you shit.

If you started spending thousands of dollars buying designer clothes people would hate on you for spending soo much for clothing.
If you were REALLY good looking people would be calling you pretty boy or metro.
If you have perfect hair, people will give you shit asking how long you take to get ready.

If you’re really smart people will call you a nerd.
If you’re rich people will call you stuck up or greedy
If you’re really confident and have a lot of swag then you must be full of yourself.

The list goes on and on. At the end of the day anyone who excels at anything gets hated on for it, thats how life goes. If you want to fit in with everyone don’t do anything to stand out, but if you are going to stand out expect to get criticized for it. Thats just the way it goes.
+1 Best reply!

Anytime anyone puts in a great amount of time/effort into any activity people will question their reasoning.

Sidebar : I also agree that many who dislike heavily muscular physiques are not jealous, but simply do not like the look. It’s no different than how males on online muscle communities prefer “bikini girls” over female bodybuilders and most fitness competitors.

Just this week I went to Texas on biz (I’m a software/database developer). I had a few interesting experiences concerning my physique/lifestyle, one of which was kind of annoying.

First going through security. I tend to turn to the side slightly walking through the detector door at my local airport. Security guy said “I saw you in line and was wondering if you were going to make it thru without touching the sides”. It was a friendly comment.

On my connecting flight I was in my aisle seat, and a big-ish black dude was stopped in front of my seat waiting for folks to get their stuff in the over head bin. He looked like he goes to the gym regularly. He kept looking at me so I said “How ya doin’?” (you know, friendly like). He said “You look like you bench about 600 pounds!”. I said “I wish! I bet YOU can!”. He said “Naw man”. It was a friendly exchange (but he was obviously a gym guy).

Now, at the client site a colleague was fascinated by the amount of food I had with me, so naturally the ‘why’ questions started. “Aren’t you concerned about health, cholesterol…” etc. Why would you do that? On and on. It got to the point where some of the comments were like “Hey Arnold…”, “Hey beefcake…”. That kind of shit. Plus the fact that I often join a gym for a week on the road and get up at 4:30am and go pound iron. For some reason that annoys small minded people.

Now, another colleague of mine who has become a great friend (not on this trip) calls me “Meat” and “Meathead”. It’s his way and I don’t mind (see thread about black folks calling each other N*gger). But this guy obviously had some issues with my lifestyle. I say fuck-them-all.

My client on the other hand, in his 50’s, had just started going to the gym. He had nothing but legitimate questions and even joked that he couldn’t believe ‘a computer hacker’ was also a gym-rat.

I’m starting to get more and more comments about physique and always diet. Some are snide, some are just ignorance, most are just curious.

You’re obviously no stranger to the gym. I don’t even think I’m huge (compared to bigger lifters). The obvious answer is to say “get used to it”, but it doesn’t make it any less annoying.
