10,000 IU every single day. I’ve just started my 3rd week of doing this and have never felt better on a consistent basis. Seriously, every single day. I get so tired at night now that I fall like a rock and sleep at least 8 uninterrupted hours. Then, I wake up feeling like I need to sing a Disney song because I feel so good.
This is after many many years of extreme difficulty going to sleep, constantly waking up in the middle of the night and feeling like shit all day. Also felt like I had diabetes or something with all the pissing. Oh, and the morning wood. Stronger than ever. Best steroid ever.
Supplementing with Vitamin D changed my life. I don’t say that lightly. It became the start of me getting back to normal. I had been falling apart (mentally and physically) little by little for years and could no longer just ‘get by’. In addition to Vit D (I take 10,000iu but notice improvement with as low as 5,000iu), taking a B-complex, additional methyl B12 and methylfolate, and a good digestive enzyme got me very far. Also important for me was daily fiber (veggies and occasionally some psyllium husk powder).
But yeah, the Vit D was monumental to improving my wellbeing.
For those that are supplementing with vit. D; what is your sun exposure like?
I am thinking of trying supplementing with vit. D although I do spend probably about a good 1-2 hours, every 2-3 days in the sunlight. I am wondering id supplementing with vit. D would be a waste?

My sun exposure is basically nil for half the year. Living in Maine can do that to you when it gets dark before you leave work for the day.
I’ve found Vitamin D to be absolutely wonderful. I definitely, definitely noticed a big change in my general well-being after starting it.
I’m not sure about your case. You aren’t freezing in the dark like me. When in doubt, ask your Doc!

I supplement with 2500 IU/day. My sun exposure is decent during warm weather, ranging from 2-4+ hours per day on most days (MAR - late OCT or early NOV), but during continental winters here (NOV-early MAR) I may go a weeks without any considerable exposure, even longer if there is no stretch of warmer temps above freezing.
Even if I have no yard work to do, when the weather is decent during climatologically favorable months, I aim for a 45-60 minute walk, for the sun exposure reason if nothing else.

I’m in the same boat. Eventually I don’t get any exposure at all. Sun hasn’t fully risen as I go to work, and it’s night time when I leave the office.
came here to post this. That article is why I started supplementing with it. One of 5 supplements ever that I’ve noticed an actual discernible difference with.
From what I have read, it is better to break the dosing up over the day as Vit D can’t be stored. I might try breaking the doses up into four. Breakfast, lunch, supper, and before bed.
