I like most of their songs, but there are a couple that are just insanely beautiful pieces of art, namely, “Sunday Bloody Sunday”, “One”, and “Beautiful Day”.
One of my favorites. Not too mention Bono, who is far more respected than the rest of the idiot celebrities that dabble in politics. Let him wear fucking sunglasses- that guy does more in a day for the poor and beaten masses than most do in a lifetime.
Bono is a total shitbag and I hope U2’s tour bus gets hit by an asteroid and turns them all into little bits of shit.
Their music is lame and crappy. I’m pretty sure Corrosion of Conformity’s American Volume Dealer beats the hell out of their albums on the playground and take’s their lunch money.
Good to see fellow U2 haters out there. I say we nominate Henry Rollins as the patron of our club. He ripped into them back in 92 when everyone still thought they were good.

My hat’s off to all of them.
Second.
Third.

Fourth.
Their music might be getting worse and worse since they started, but I still sure as hell like them, and know plenty of people who do.
I can think of very few bands who have still kept their same original style of music while still appealing to the pubilc.
PS… have you guys heard the latest in pop music? Any of U2’s songs beats the piss out of it.

And I’m sure these comments have Bono crying in his whiskey and that he finds absolutely no consolation in U2’s tremendous fame, fortune, albums sales, Granny awards…etc…etc…etc.
As for Mr. Rollins… who’s more popular U2 or Henry Rollins? Hmmm… though call, real though call.
For the record, I do find Bono to be annoying (and I wonder how much HE gives to charity instead of just talking about it… they should have charged $10-20 for tickets to Live8 and gave the money to charity; you can’t eat good will)… but when people get that popular they don’t get become at least a little strange and self-important.
U2’s still a decent band though… even though I don’t care for a lot of their songs.

Oh come on, Henry Rollins has that TV show on IFilm that nobody watches.
I saw U2 at two gigs, one before they were famous & one at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on the Joshua Tree tour. I wish they had retired after the JT album.
Bono makes me puke with his pathetic antics on stage when he lies down next to a young girl plucked from the audience. I believe him to be a self-opinionated, over-righteous, and deceitful twat. If he must continue with his music then stop trying to be a prophet at the same time.

Exactly.
Pop music sucks and it’s destroying what real music we have left.
They got a 3-5 GREAT songs. The rest I find boring. That’s ok though, not any different from 99,9% of other bands.
However I just don’t get the charity thing. What does he do for charity? Has he given anything to charity? To me it looks like he’s walking around yelling “HEY RICH COUNTRIES!! GIVE MONEY TO CHARITY, DON’T YOU SEE THE STARVING CHILDREN EVERYWHERE?”, and then more quietly “now, if you’ll excuse me I need to catch my private jet to my new palace in france”. If anybody can show me a sacrifice he has done, I’ll shamefully eat my words.
I think the blandness of U2 is only just overshadowed by the annoying smug-gittery of Bonio.
If I want lectures on the hardship of life and the need to “share the wealth”, I don’t need to listen to some obnoxious condescending millionaire who hasn’t worked a day in his life.
If he feels so bad about world poverty and social injustice, perhaps he should sell his collection of sunglasses and Grecian 2000 hair products, and send the money to the poor?

Thank you. I saw U2 live in the 80s during their UF and JT tours which were incredible, moving shows. It’s been downhill ever since. I saw them last year during what what should have been called the One Campaign Propaganda Rally. Bono spewed more political bullshit during that show than you’d hear from a typical politician.
But for all of you who hate U2 and think they suck: do songs like “Bad” (one of the greats, IMO) truly do nothing for you? Do you think it’s awful music, or do you just despise Bono, the band and the hype so much that you can’t bear it?

Fucking word to that! Bono (and indeed every other fucktard ‘entertainer’ like Sting and Michael Jackson who wants to save the planet) should take enough of his cash to live comfortably, and give ALL of the rest to charity if theyre that concerned about it. U2 are no longer relevant, and are probably mighty pissed about that fact.
Bono is a publicity whore who uses charity to get his stupid sunglasses wearing (even at night) face on our screens, which totally boils my piss. A great way to raise cash for charity would be a pay per view, live televised, ‘Bono Death’. Id like to see him put into a coffin filled with broken glass and dog shit and kicked off a mountain. The rating would be crazy, and think of the poor kids that would be helped by the proceeds raised from watching the cock sucker tumbling to a satisfying end.
