I hate Squats Club

OG - I had no idea you were a 175er. I guess I assumed I was second lightest guy here except for DCA.

Nice work!

Looking strong OG. Your MP/BW ratio is awesome. You’ll be doing reps with 175lb soon.

Strick- I feel 125 today! Got 4 hours of sleep last night. Wife was out of town on business. Had the dogs who are on her nightly schedule and had to wait up for my son…Thanks for always stopping by.

ScottG- Thanks brother,

OP-yup, just a runt. Holding down the title of the lightest. But isn’t DCA incredible? The numbers that guy puts up at 181 are tremendous. And your numbers are Powering forward all the time.

ECO- Thanks man, trying to get there so I can qualify for the MP race!

So after a wink of sleep…I bailed on sprints and Sloshy and went to the gym and hit the cycle for warm-up, lots stretching and foam rolling than 12 minutes treadmill at 4 degrees 4 mph walk, than hit the cyle for 20 minutes of hills maintaining RPM over 100.

4 sets of ball twists at 30 reps, 2x10x45 plate loaded front squat and then threw in the towel…Have since hooked up an IV of coffee and am looking for a dark corner to hide in.

Peace

That’s a lot of work on little sleep.
Better be careful bailing on Sloshy. She might get jealous. Of course, if you put her on your wife’s side of the bed, she might forgive you

I don’t know Strick, it could be the same reaction I get from wife " Oh yuck, not you again"!!

OG, where in Mass are you from?

Dead day ( Sumo)

4x225
4x245
6x265

Hips were a litle cranky and stiff this AM…so sumo’s were a struggle…I suppose its just getting the kinks out from the sporadic spring/summer of lifting I have had.

South Shore

I totally bailed this AM. Went into Boston last night with the family to see Cirque Du Soleil ( great take) and got home at midnight. My son drove…his first time driving into the city…maybe my last!!

There was no way I was going to be able to get up at 4:30 and be productive. So I slept in! got up at 6, took the dogs out and while they were being dogs I did 100 band resisted push-ups and 2 75 yard zercher carries with the slosh pipe.

I’ll do my CGBP day tomorrow…hopefully I can slide into the rack early tonight and get back some lost time.

have a great weekend all,

Peace

OG, for your body weight your MP’s are putting mine to shame, good job. And keep up with the slosh pipe.

UN-Thanks brother, but no shame in what you are doing! Keep banging away and we will get there!

CGBP

It is so much more fun working out at 8 as opposed to 5am! More time, more energy, MO FUNNER!

Time to walk the dogs in the woods, mow the lawn, and take a ride on cycle…beautiful day in MA…sunny, not a cloud in sight going to be a very nice 80 today!

Peace

Nice work, OG. CGB should have a nice carry over to MP.

Wait…“walk the dogs in the woods”? You have woods in MA? I thought it was one big city!?

doesn’t 3 trees count woods? (lol) I am hoping you are right about the CGBP… it also saves wear on my shoulder…

There are still trees in MA? I thought you had to go to RI to see them. you know, check out the foliage.

8 O’Clock? You’ve damn near pissed away the whole day by then. Nice work in here.

Strick and UN- I’m taking pictures to prove we have trees in Ma…do 3 foot scrub pines count?

Jack- I know…shameful, if JW finds out I am out of the club and thanks for the support!

Hips were very cranky this AM so I pushed off squat day til tomorrow. I did my 100 band resisted push-ups and some core work…foam rolled like a demon and stretched for 20 minutes…feeling a little better; should be fine for tomorrow and the box and DB lunges…

peace

Squat Day (13 inch box)

Bulgarian split squat DB
3x6x35lb db’s

Hips were feelin good today so wanted to get a little more volume in my squat day since these are my worst lifts…progress for me on squats is almost non-existant despite consistent work…someday, someday I will bust out…just keeping my head down until I do.

My Dad shows up today for his annual late summer visit. He will be around the next 5 days so I am looking forward to it…although it is painful to sit around so much…I will try and work out later in AM on couple of days ( if I can flip my work schedule around) and bring him with me to the gym. He lifts 3 days a week when he is home in SC. Thankfully he won’t see me squat!!

Peace

Good idea hitting the squats harder when they feel good.

You can’t go wrong if you are patient Old Goat. Your squats will come when they are ready.

Do you do an active deload or just rest kind of deload? The reason I ask is that I am 52 (in spite of my profile) and I was wondering if you noticed a bit of a lag if you just had a rest week. I seem to have to play catch up if I don’t do at least some light training.

BB

Joe- Thanks, I definitely need the squat work when I can get it.

BB- Thanks for stopping by. I do an active deload from 5/3/1. If I don’t, I t takes almost the next cycle to feel like I am doing good work.

Millies
6x120
4x135
5x150 shoulders were actually a little tender today which surprised me. I am pretty sure it was from the overhead squats. Seeing I do overhead holds with a slosh pipe it did kind of surprise me that they were achy. Just means more work to get the little stablizers up to snuff. Because they were tender I skipped dips and will do them on CGB day.

Pull-ups +25lbs
6,5,4,4,3,3,
have to get that to 10

Hammer Curls
1x10x30
1x9x35
2x5x40

Seated Pullovers on a Hammer
3x10x120

Strength isnt back to where it was yet, but its coming…hopefully next cycle I will see some PR’s!
