I Don't Get Cold

Well, it’s a two-way street. In the north, when it hits 90 degrees in summer, old people start dying and they start warning people not to go outside during the peak hours and everybody just melts.

The only way around this is for people to live for a few years in both extremes. And when I say live, I mean actually get out and be active in the extremes, not just sit in an air-conditioned house when it’s hot or bundle up indoors when it’s frigid. Get out and freeze your nipples off or sweat your balls off, depending on the clime.

Trust me, I’ve lived in both extremes and I’ve laughed at everyone. Now, I live in a “moderate” region where they go berserk in both extremes.

Its that mild case of vaginitis that you cant get rid of. Buy one of these and that little problem where your vagina freezes over will be a thing of the past

Really? Interesting. Along with not being bothered by the cold, being in a hot place is the one thing that drives me absolutely nuts. Ask any of my friends and they will tell you I turn into one hell of an asshole.

What part of Ontario? Southern Ontario would be part of the states if not for the water dividing line. After all, Port huron is north of Windsor. [/quote]

You can’t brag about living in the cold part of Canada if you are in Vancouver or in southern Ontario. Detroit is north of Windsor, for God’s sake.

I, too, seldom wear a coat. I am currently in Iowa but grew up on west-central Wisconsin. I think your body just adjusts. The only time I wear a coat is when it is both cold and windy.

I love going out on subzero days and feeling the tightness in my skin when the cold hits it.

Same here, try wearing shorts and no coat when it’s -10 F. it’s brutal

It’s the wind that will kill you.

AMEN!!! Wait, I’m from the south. But I can proudly say I love it when it ices up. Just the little bit we do get and I get to drive out and do doughnuts on it because everyone else is at home. I love the cold.

I worked in North Dakota for a few months on a contract and it was great. -40 wind chills and I was in a light jacket for most of it. People laughed at me saying I was insane.

On this day in 1996 Tower MN had a temp of -60F. That is air temp only no wind chill.

Keep in mind I’m no yankee, but I used to always be cold from october to april. Heat turned up incredibly high, miserable, turning the hot water on full blast just to soak up the heat. The wife always yelled at me that she was burning up all winter. She’d go around naked while I wore two layers some days.

In november I started eating the Berardi PN way, and now my wife complains that it’s always too cold. I’M running around naked and she’s under a blanket. Its been a dramatic difference in my matabolism.

I think school got canceled that day because it was too freakin’ cold outside.

One thing I have noticed being leaner this year is that blubber really does protect against artic temperatures!Yes, i’m joking, but I do recall last year walking around outside in -20F in normal clothes no problem, while the skinny security guard looked like an eskimo and this year I’ve had problems with anything below +10F.

laugh at us you want but when they even begin to think that it might possibly snow or ice the next day, school and work is closed.
yesterday they thought that we would have snow over night so they cancelled schools and closed businesses, and the beauty is that it didnt snow it just rained overnight by noon it was dry and the kids were playin basketball. it was pretty chilly tho.

When I’m tired, I’m freezing. Any other time I’m hot. Someone has to explain this to me.

I walk around with a t-shirt and light jacket all winter…nothing. Then, in May, I leave the bedroom window quarter-open and wake up coughing and sneezing. Pisses me off to no end.

I used to live in Toronto (now in LA) for 12 years. Talk about cold… my snot would freeze inside my nose! How’s that possible?

Well, that’s good to know. Good stuff.

I’m talking in the 10-20 degree range. Or colder (about 0 degrees) if there’s no wind. I can handle cold, rain, or wind, but not all three at the same time. Of course, I rarely wear shorts (never really have). I’m a t-shirt and jeans guy. I’ve got nothing on the Canadians though.

When you’re tired, your metabolism hits rock bottom. Thus, your source of heat goes kaput. That’s really the only circumstance under which I’ll wear a jacket. If I have to pull an all-nighter (or 3), I’ll generally switch to a jacket/sweatshirt the next day. Other than that, I only wear sweatshirts if I’ve forgotten to do laundry and I’ve got nothing else.

High protein intake + frequent nutrients + sleep = human blast furnace. Sucks during summer time though.

Okay, I guess that really is cold to the average person, no matter where they live, IMO.

I was just wondering because some people think they can handle the cold, but they have different ideas about what cold is.

Any guys here try getting into the Polar Bear club (jumping in a nearly frozen lake in the middle of winter)?

I tried it once in 10th grade during wrestling, but would never do it again!

Haha, I’m with you rrjc…if it’s 55 degrees in FL I might have to turn the heat on a bit. You northerners def got some thick skin. We are wimps down here I will be the first to admit. USF Tampa was a great campus to go to!!
