I Did Change My Mind On Something

…by reading the various posts on this part of the forum, and that is: guncontrol. Can’t really tell what made me change my mind, but this is no joke; i’m serious. I no longer consider the illegality of firearm ownership within the house a good thing. As these times grow with rapid uncertainty, owning a firearm is a wise choice…

You’re a smart man ephrem and your people are true friends of liberty. Us Americans used the Netherlands as an example of freedom and of throwing off the yoke of tyrants during our own revolution. The Dutch people were also the first to provide loans for our fledgling republic at a time when John Adams was being laughed at by the French. Our people are closer than many realize.

…now all we have got to do is get a rifle in YOUR hands. grin

…i wouldn’t want to go that far, but… thanks? The dutch government decided last week to make anti-gun laws harsher, so a rifle is too conspicuous. Perhaps a compact, yet powerful handgun is the better option. It’s off to Belgium once again (-:

I think you’re ready for your first gun rack. Need to get yourself a pick up to mount it in, of course.

…sorry, my backyard is barely big enough to park my bicycle, let alone a pick up, lol…

I’m just playing with you. It’s nice to have you on our side though. For that I’m thankful.

…ha! I may have changed my mind on one thing, but that doesn’t mean i’m ready to turn into right-wing christian neocon conservative. No, i’d rather stay a bleeding heart liberal socialist who’ll defend himself instead of ‘avoid the conflict’. Hmm, perhaps it’s best to get myself invited to a gunclub to practise first, seeing i’ve never even touched a gun. Whaddyathink?

smile Not all of us gun-friendly Americans are right-wing Christian neo-cons. Some of us cough…me are quasi-Christian/Deist libertarians.

…i did some reading on ‘libertarians’ and it was very interesting. Altough i do think any [large] nation will ultimately end up with an interfering moloch for a government, the initial libertarian philosophy is a sound one. Just the free economic market idea takes of the fun out of it somewhat, but hey, you can’t have everything, can you?
